Externally driven regime change has very rarely worked as a strategy and I suspect many won't be happy with the IDF being involved in it. These things usually have to happen from within although that is obviously more difficult.

Change from within doesn’t happen if the regime in charge exercises iron grip. What power does those who fight against it have? North Korea, China, Russia, Nazi Germany, Iran, Saudi, you name it.
It takes special people to break that but most wind up in a hole in the ground. For example, you see for example the show trial against Navalny and what followed it’ll take very brave people to stand against Putin.
External regime change? I agree, it rarely works. Maybe it will this time. I don’t know how Iran actually works and I don’t think I’ve even met an Iranian so I’ve no idea really. The pattern of history suggests to me that without an established constitution, it’ll flop from one form of dictatorship to another, Russia style. The poor people of course paying the bill with their lives.
