Town xG of 1.85 v 0.18 for Leicester but 3 shots on target apiece.

Very frustrating afternoon.

Need a favour from QPR now.

Poll: After 20 games where will Town be in the table?

We don't need one, but it would be helpful.

The story it tells is of another drawn game that we should have won.

Xg of 1.85 against a side that came for a 0-0 and ended up 1-0 up at half time is actually not particularly bad at all. Even Man City struggle to create against a massed defence. These aren't the sort of games you win by 3 or 4 unless you score first and early.

The league they are in and the position they are in that league tells me their " struggles " are of a somewhat lesser nature. I've been watching football since 1963, deep defending is nothing even remotely new. You'd think after over 60 years teams would have the wit to counter it. Most don't move the ball quick enough to start with. You could always hope one of the defenders just nods off after getting thoroughly bored watching the oppostion play it side to side and backwards at 1mph in front of him!

The shots on target metric is slightly unfair in this case as they only count those that are blocked by the keeper or last defender (whoever is closest to the goal line). E.g. Akpom’s glorious chance late on was blocked by a defender ahead of the keeper, so won’t count as a shot on target, even though it looked to save a certain goal.

I’d imagine there are a few other examples yesterday that were blocked before the last man. Add those in and you’d get a better reflection of the game we all watched.

Precisely. We played the low block often with 10 men in the box against Arsenal last season and still ended up losing both. Superior teams CAN and WILL prevail over the low block. Problem is, we can't.

The problem lies with our playing style. How many times the players refuse to shoot in the Leicester box when in range, choosing to pass the ball backwards or sideways? We can't even break at speed because our turnovers are so slow by the time we get the ball and pass it up the field the opposition would have reset their defence.

Plenty of people praising last week's win over Hull as world-class, what bs. If not for Matusiwa's wonder strike and Hull's reticence to attack for most of the game the result would most likely be the same as today or worse. Both Stolarczyk and Pandur could have had a picnic in goal, I don't even think we forced them to any decent saves

Failing to beat a demoralised Leicester team in the relegation places, a team which the scum just beat 0-2 away last week is just pathetic if we are serious about automatic promotion.

Do you think Boro are serious about automatic promotion? You might want to look up their result against Leicester at home from a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah and if a meterorite landed on the pitch nobody would've won!
You can't just discount everything that actually happened to fit your narrative. There's a reason Hull were reticent to attack (and why they ended up with no shots on target).

You take negativity to new levels.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

"Plenty of people praising last week's win over Hull as world-class"

I've seen some hyperbole on here, but that is top drawer.

Tells us are “strikers” aren’t good enough.

The number of balls into the box we played yesterday with no-one there.

We moved the ball noticeably more quickly throughout the second half.

This is partially true but it's not all on the strikers. The ball played across near the end by Mehmeti (I think) is one where Clarke needs to be there to be scoring, it was driven across the face and the back post was empty and perfect for our LW to be attacking.
