A point at Norwich? 20:53 - Apr 6 with 3574 viewsTresBonne

Heard this on BBC Radio while driving home. Would you take a point at Carrow Road next week?

For me it was a Mick McCarthy 'wouldn't even get on the bus' situation, but Dad says we should never be going to CR thinking of getting a point.

Thoughts?

Yes give me a point now and save us the bother of having to go.

We have the chance of doing the double over them. As with every game a team should cross the white line at the start of the match with every intention of winning.

I’d snap your hand off! I’m not confident at all - but I think I’m protect8mg myself because I don’t dare dream at the moment. If we win there I think we go up as It will be such a boost to our confidence.

Go with the intent of winning. They are confident, in form and have done brilliantly. But we have better players and should go there to win.

Results have fallen for us. Let’s try and make it count, as the games are running out.

Would take a point. That said, the way Norwich play and the fact they still kinda have a shout at playoffs means we could hit them on the break. Guarantee this: won’t be a 0-0 game.

Play like we can and 3 points are in the bag.
I just thanked a Budgie supporting friend of mine for them beating Millwall. Pointing out that that result may be very significant in our promotion push.
His reply is unprintable.

Yes, all day long. This and the home game v Boro are imho going to be our hardest games of the 7 remaining. I think Saints away has changed as they will be hungover from the Cup semi 3 days before.
A point won't be a bad result if we can beat Pompey and don't lose to Boro.

you are my ipswich !!

Given this afternoon’s results, 100% yes.

A point would work, but no I wouldn’t take it if you offered it to me now.

My thoughts? That's an age thing. He is used to seeing us win there while recency bias says it is a bogey ground. We should be looking for 3 points there the same as any other match in this league.

Of course, they are on great form and a point will be a decent result.

Nah - it’s Norwich not Real Madrid. We’re fully capable of going there and winning. Draws are for wimps.

I just tried to imagine Mick McCarthy saying that! More a Joe Royle quote that one.

And that’s why Mick never really managed in the PL - too risk averse and was far too safe for most of the time.

We are by far the better footballing team, we have by far the better players.
Let’s hope we play on the front foot, take the game to them and run them wragged.
Núñez to start to p1ss them off.

And why Royle didn't either? Too gung-ho and not risk-aware enough.

Win the next 3 and it = promotion basically, so let’s just do that instead.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

No, we're second in the league with two games in hand and we have the chance to go and rub their noses in it and also stop their charge towards the play offs..

Absolutely

Beat Pompey and a get at least a point v Boro and we will be big favourites

I'd take it, given I've priced it in as one of the defeats we can (hopefully) afford. Such a big opportunity in the next eight days though – find a way past Norwich & Pompey, and there is a chance we can put one foot in the Premier League against Boro.

That’s the way to look at it. Attack the week, we have some room for error.

I’m usually bang up for the derby and I’m sure as soon as I see that disgusting yellow jersey and hear that song before the game I’ll be wanting nothing more than to do them but this just feels like another game in the run in to me now.

Maybe it’s getting their unbeaten record of our back. Ever game is crucial but Boro is the biggest upcoming fixture.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?
