| A McKenna Masterclass 14:32 - Apr 11 with 1606 views | itfcsuth | Perfect away performance first half, set up and settled to be compact without the ball, Johnson and Philogene were outstanding defensively, and counter punched when possible. Hirst could have had a hat trick first half alone. Shoutout to Philogene, have given him enough criticism during his time, thought he was absolutely outstanding, with and without the ball, looked a real top player in every element today. Cannot express how good Dara O’Shea was, what a performance, what a leader, what a captain. COYFB! | | | | |

I would argue the best decision he made was taking Nunez off.

For the most part an exceptional away performance. Absolutely impossible to analyse KM’s performance today though without acknowledging the obvious. A spectacularly bad lack of judgement which could have cost us dear. Nobody managing at this level should be making such an error imo. We move on though, great win and on to Tuesday. Defence was immense today. COYB.

Nah...best decision was to bring him on. Completely rattled the budgies and broke the game up. Genius timing to take him off after he had done his job.

Really harsh. I assume it was discussed and assurances were given. Nunez didn't abide by it and was subbed. SB

The game was petering out though SB - crowd were quiet and there was only one winner. A sending off and particularly the sending off of Nunez could have been catastrophic. There was simply no need to bring him on and the fact it whipped up the crowd so much was utterly predictable. Such a smart bloke KM but that really was lunacy. Whatever - few pints now and enjoy it. On to Tuesday.

Disagree. Mehmeti was also on a yellow and had a few challenges after that booking. McKenna wasn't to know Nunez would lose it after assurances and I think the majority wanted him on - I wanted him on. McKenna then rectified the issue by removing him. Sending off would have been bad but it was in the 82nd minute. I think you're being very harsh. Agree about the pints and enjoy it though! SB

| A McKenna Masterclass on 15:07 - Apr 11 with 931 views | SouperJim | Objectively one of our greatest performances under McKenna, away, derby game, them the form team in the division, the pressure on us to stay 2nd. Gave them very little, defensively superb and the scoreline flattered them given the chances we missed. Feels every bit as huge a result as Coventry away two years ago or Barnsley away the year before that. One foot in the premier league. | |

That was good but the bravery to go for a complete left field 11 and put Johnson right side was such good management. Imagine the meltdown on here and twitter if it hadn't come off. That's a top manager. Brilliant from the boys today. What it needed to come off was a top defensive display to give the platform. Oshea and Greaves were class. They are forming a partnership now. Kipre is excellent but the ceiling for those two is really high.

You make a very good point about them being the form team in the league - over a long period of time (along with ourselves.). And your comments about Coventry and Barnsley. It really does feel like that - let’s hope the end is the same! This was a brilliant result in just about every way. And I loved Nunez winding everyone up! [Post edited 11 Apr 15:49]

Taken things hes learned from previous games. Not gone into it thinking we can just play our way and all will be well. Took a little while but had the steel to take nunez off etc [Post edited 11 Apr 15:51]

Agree. He wasn't to know Nunez would be as irresponsible as he was. Took a lot of courage for McKenna to sub Nunez off and earned a lot of respect from me.

Absolutely disagree, Nunez is a professional footballer who should absolutely not have acted like a 5 year old, that lays on his shoulders not KM who put his trust in a highly paid professional footballer, he knew bringing him on would act as a disrupter which indeed it absolutely did in our favour, he didnt though account for the totally unprofessional performance

Agreed. That was one of Kierans best performances today. He really thrives in games setting a team up as the underdog, and of course he's become quite proficient in setting a team up to break down a massed defence. Looking very promising for him now
