We just need three wins and a draw from our remaining games. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ˜„

And that's worst case scenario. That's with Mill winning every game remaining (admittedly possible, the fixtures are pish easy)

3 wins and 3 losses to finish above Saints barring a swing in GD. Or 2 w 3d 1 l.

No game will be easy for any team now, many said Boro v Portsmouth was an easy win for Boro.
Teams are still battling for something or have nothing to play for and can play without any pressure.

I can see Saints winning all their games so 9 would do it bar a GD disaster.

Boro have badly missed Hackney. Not sure when he was injured, but only threee points from last six games - while we have got 12.

Yeah but we will need less than that. No way out of form Boro win their last 3. They have only won one in their last 7 games and Millwall have only won one in their last 5.

Win on Tuesday and beat Boro and we can pretty much start celebrating.

I think Saints are the only slight threat but it would take something pretty ridiculous to happen. Win the next two and just get it done with!

We needed 87 before this weekend.
85 now and another set of games down.

Southampton give me the heebies a little bit but I'm hoping they hit a wall soon. I thought it was happening today actually for a while.

You'd think 10 points from 6 games is very doable.

I think the fact that all pundits talk about southampton as gaining a play off place. 2nd place isnt even a thought to them.

Weve got to have one hell or a bottle to finish behind them.

Oh yes. Absolutely. To be honest, it's probably not them that give me the heebies, it's us but the game management today was a huge confidence boost. 10 points from 6 sounds tantalisingly close.

It is quite possible they will

QPR H
Stoke A
Leicester A
Oxford H

Looks like a 12 point haul could be on the cards, keeps us honest. Norwich beating them did us an enormous favour

Can see Southampton winning all their remaining games. We are in good form, so nothing should be of concern. Portsmouth will be buoyed by their result today, so won't be easy. Charlton, WBA and QPR should be easier. Middlesbrough are in awful form, so something from that is a real possibility. Nothing is guaranteed at this stage of the season, but I am extremely confident that we go up 2nd.

They look decent for it presently but that would amount to 10 wins on the spin, which would be a rare thing down here. Leeds managed 9 during our last promotion.

If they did and we took "only" 9 points, a GD swing of +11 could be overturned. Saints gained +9 from their last 5 games and would be denting our own total, then we could potentially stall or regress with 3 wins and 3 losses in store for us.

I don't see it though! - the losses or Southampton's perfect 10, think we'll be the spanner in their charge personally. If we need 9 or 10 points, I think it will be more likely because Millwall find the reserves to rally against QPR, Stoke, Leicester and Oxford. They've strung together 4 wins twice before so know how to do it.

I quite fancy the thought of winning promotion at The Valley. Certainly we're now in a position where we can make that difficult game at Southampton an irrelevance, which you would not have predicted a few weeks ago.

Southampton have won their last five. Replicate that for their remaining 5 and they finish on 85 points. But that would mean they have won 10 games in a row.

Has anyone won 10 games in a row in the the run in? Especially with a fixture pile up due to the FA Cup. Can't see that happening.

coventry were on a similar run (4 wins in 5), got to the semi-finals of the cup and went on to get 1(one) point from their last 6 games

It's a tough ask. Although Southampton do have a much better squad than Coventry did in 2024. So like us they can rotate.
