| Furlong vs Tuanzebe 18:42 - Apr 23 with 1920 views | DBaldy | Apologies if this has been done before and I missed it (I did search), but I was interested in people's opinions / comparisons of the two and who you prefer. While Axel was (mostly) pretty good defensively, I think I prefer Furlong all round. Both have their limitations going forward, although I'd suggest Furlong has a slight advantage there and is certainly a better crosser of the ball when he has the chance. Plus there's his long throws. Furlong is also our sh1thouser in chief and just seems to be a solid 7/10 every game., although he doesn't have Tuanzebe's top end speed (not that he was massively quick anyway) and that could prove his downfall if/when we go up. Thoughts? | | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 18:44 - Apr 23 with 1889 views | Perublue | Of the two .. Furlong for me for two reasons he’s mastering the dark arts on a prem scale and also he’s not made of glass | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 18:55 - Apr 23 with 1812 views | DarkBrandon | This is an oversimplification, but Furling has had one season in the PL and Tuanzebe one season out of it. If Tuanzebe could have stayed fit he wouldn’t have been an option for us. He’s by some distance the better player. | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 18:55 - Apr 23 with 1805 views | ReusersTown | Tuanzebe is the better player in every aspect other than injury. Hence why he's a Prem player when not injured. | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 18:58 - Apr 23 with 1784 views | NthQldITFC | Furlong's great, but Tuanzebe has great pace, fantastic composure and really excellent timing in the tackle which allows him to dominate attackers and steal the ball without going to ground much. | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 19:37 - Apr 23 with 1704 views | KBsSocks | Furlong's sh-housery regularly descends into thuggery. I don't like the latter, and it's a fine line: between sh-h and thuggery, but also between staying on the pitch and not. Furlong is better at sh-h, and long throws, but Tuanzebe nullified more. Tuanzebe is also very charismatic and better looking. Sorry for objectifying a player. | |

| For me Furlong has gone up a gear of later and whilst Axel… on 19:44 - Apr 23 with 1649 views | unstableblue | … is probably a better player technically and physically Furlong has remained fit for the entire season. And that alas was Axels achilles heel | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 19:46 - Apr 23 with 1618 views | waveneyblue | Furlong has probably pound for pound been our best signing. Really good, consistant player, i really rate him. Definitely in the top 3 for player of the season | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 19:56 - Apr 23 with 1594 views | Cafe_Newman | Tuanzebe every day of the week, except when he was out injured - which happened far too frequently. | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 19:56 - Apr 23 with 1593 views | jas0999 | Tuanzebe - a reason he played for Manchester United. He’s a very good player. Equally, a reason he was released from Manchester United - injury prone. Sadly, he suffers from regular injuries. Just 11 appearances for Burnley this season. Injuries again. I prefer players, who actually play. So Furlong gets the nod from me! | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 20:20 - Apr 23 with 1516 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Injuries aside has to be Axel. Guy was a brute 1v1 defender. That performance at Brighton away vs Mitoma was superb. Furlong isn't a prem player. | |

Bit of a sweeping statement.....
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 21:30 - Apr 23 with 1260 views | SomethingBlue | Axel is the better player in most aspects but Furlong has done very well, probably surpassed my expectations honestly, and will deserve to compete for the spot if we go up. | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 21:31 - Apr 23 with 1253 views | britbiker | Disagree furlong for me. I rated him since the start of the season. Knows how to wind the opposition up without overstepping the mark. Must be. Nightmare for opposition players. That goal was class as well. Tuanzebe had pace but what use is a player who is constantly injured and then tries to dismember himself. I did rate him highly though when finally on the pitch | | | |

Tuanzebe has only played 11 times this season? Jeez. But having just googled it, the most games he's ever played in a single season is 28. Furlong has played more than 28 games in 7 different seasons. Sometimes the best ability is availability.
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 22:33 - Apr 23 with 1075 views | ITFC_Essex | Furlong presently has more chance of playing in the top flight next season than he has. Axel is going to have to try and get another contract and only those clubs circling the drain will take a punt on him in that league. On paper a good player, the problem is he can't play a season. Let's be honest, as good as Axel was for us in the Championship, when promoted he was only a bit-part player and took the money in the summer over staying with the club that helped him recover his career. Good luck to him, but not the player you need in a dog fight as proven here and at Burnley. Furlong has shown some fight here at least. | |

Wtf is that! Axel was absolutely key towards the end of the promotion season, of go as far as saying we don't go up without him.

I don't think so. Furlong has come in this season and done a job for us been an ever present. Can't fault him. But he isn't a premier league footballer.

He played what 16 games that season? I agree he played well, but he is rarely fit enough to play a season and has been a bit-part man in two teams that sank.

No consistency with Axel. Furlong for me. He is smart, resilient and tactically aware. I don't think he is caught often as his positioning is good and anticipation excellent. With KM's influence in the summer he will be fine in EPL if we go up, as will many other players.
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 14:02 - Apr 24 with 590 views | CastroSito | Furlong, Axel might be better, but actually getting out on the grass counts for a lot. | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 14:09 - Apr 24 with 572 views | jayessess | I loved Axel, but he is once again going to unavailable for more than half of Burnley's games this season. The best ability is availability. | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 16:55 - Apr 24 with 441 views | gsoly | Axel was absolutely outstanding in a Town shirt. He's head and shoulders above Furlong. No slight on DF, just the reality. | | | |
| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 17:15 - Apr 24 with 414 views | IndependentlyBlue | Furlong for me. Has his limitations but knows what they are. Doesn’t try and do what he can’t. Tuanzabe, if he could keep fit for a full season, would be a better choice, but he can’t. And if he could he wouldn’t want to be here. | |

| Furlong vs Tuanzebe on 17:56 - Apr 24 with 362 views | mrfixit426 | Axel is a vastly superior player. It's not close. He was hot property when he broke through at Man Utd and it's easy to see why. Strong, electric pace, calm and probably in the top four defenders I've ever seen in one-on-one situations along with Sol Campbell, Ledley King and (wait for it) Titus Bramble. So strong and able to shift body weight quickly. However, you'd want Furlong in your squad because he's always available. Terrific defensively, but in the bottom one of players who are able to make effective forward passes. He gives the ball away A LOT. I love him, but he needs to look after possession much better. | | | |
