I'm not so sure, he was a totally liability in these last few games. If O'Shea went down for a few games, I wouldn't be particularly confident in his ability to fill in at a similar level.

Not a PL player for me but I guess not a bad option to keep around in a pinch. Could probably turn a profit on him but not sure we will want to fit out an entire squad of back ups as well! So I guess makes sense for him to stay. |  |

Very good value, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't here next season though.
I imagine we will sign a new partner for O'shea and then you have Greaves as well who has a much higher ceiling. Maybe he hangs around as 4th choice. [Post edited 5 May 16:22]

Good deal considering quality for the prize, but i rather we looked for someone better and tried to sell Kipre instead. He is big but does not win enough in the air, slow, indecisive and i am puzzled by his ability to pass, sometimes sublime and sometimes misses a pass of 3 meters to the person next to him. We need someone that is of Greaves quality or better. [Post edited 5 May 17:12]

Was terrific for large parts of the season, did look rusty towards the end of the season when he found himself out the team - but probably natural. Biggest concern would be his pace at PL level.
At £2.5m though, to provide cover, seems a well fitted settled member of the group, snip really. |  | | |

We certainly need 4 CBs and Greaves has shown the versatility to provide cover at LB too. I can only see Kipre moving on if we sign 2 players better than Greaves. One would be first choice to partner O'Shea whilst the other would have to be first choice back-up (unless you are turning O'Shea into that). |  |
