Lot of tribal dimwits in the country then hey mate ? Nearly every council now has an awful lot of Reform councillors in them. What actually gives you the right to call people that anyway ? The dimwits are people like you who keep berating others just because they don’t have the same view as you. Nothing to say you are any better or any more right than those with opposite views. Just you giving it the big one. You don’t even live around here anyway, go tend your leaks.

You've done a great job of proving his point there, well done.

I had the same thought... I wonder if the club had heard on the grapevine that this was likely to happen and wanted to discuss issues.

Not exactly grapevine, it's been expected across most local gvmt groups in the last few months - anything other than Reform would have been a surprise, sadly.

Not really. Suffolk only deals with planning for Minerals, Waste and County council developments, such as schools or fire stations.
Ipswich Borough didn't have enough seats up to go to Reform.
These elections are a waste of money as neither will exist in 2 years.

Which is why Labour tried to stop them. They are pointless. But obviously any Reform voter will disengage brain and come up with some rubbish reason why Labour tried to block them

Still nothing to do with SCC. Would be an East Suffolk Council decision.

Ah it's so confusing! So Suffolk outside Ipswich is also two-tier (until 2028).

Rushmere is in Ipswich, Rushmere St Andrew is not in Ipswich, Rushmere Ward and Rushmere District are both in Ipswich but not the same geographically etc etc. Will be glad when it becomes unitary!

Except it's IBC who the club will be working with on that and they're already onside.

And in Ipswich, Labour lost only one seat, and Reform gained only one.

Having said that, the larger unitary authority that will cover Ipswich will make it more difficult for Labour to win in future, just like the Central Suffolk and North Ipswich constituency.

It certainly is a sad state of affairs when people are so disillusioned in this Country that they are turning, in their droves, to vote for a political party hoping that it's racist, xenophobic, antisemite, grifter of a leader can makes things better.

Think it's pretty obvious now why Starmer tried to block us having a vote. Looks like he was onto something.

I wonder how long it will be before more of our money is wasted on by-elections when new councillors resign as the job is more involved than they thought.

Tbh, not having the election in 2025 was the issue, they shouldn't have been cancelled at that point. But having got to 2026 it really is a fairly pointless election now as it will be such a short term.

So yes, Labour were wrong to cancel elections, but not the 2026 ones.

The BBC is slightly misleading then, and I didn't read the fine print.

It did strike me as strange given Reform did well in Ipswich in the county council elections.

No, the link you provided clearly says 1 of 16 wards declared.

But this map which led me to the link I posted is misleading.

Of course, Labour were never going to lose control as only one-third of the seats were up for grab but Ipswich wasn't coloured red earlier today.

It's not the clearest e.g. I can't see from that which ward the reform councillor was elected to.

I reckon there was a VAR check in the Bridge division (Stoke Bridge area) given Reform pipped Labour by only 12 votes there. Photo finish.

Interestingly, so far 62,000 people have voted Green, not that far behind Reform and ahead of the Tories, Labour and the Lib Dems.

Maybe the so-called green lefty bumfest that some say TWTD is reflects to an extent Suffolk as a whole.

It also suggest Polanski hasn't alienated the rural vote as some have said he has.
