The second point he made is a very good point. Why is it that boomers (the supposed privileged, elite, affluent and educated generation) are the ones getting threads deleted so much? Is the term Baby Boomers accurate to describe their emotional maturity?!
Caveat: I know it's not all boomers, just as it's not all young posters who react like children when Town lose, for example, but the amount of supposedly mature adults on here who can't manage a civil conversation with people whose opinions differ is quite astonishing at times.

Seriously - if people on here can’t all respect each other, can we all at least respect Phil?
He puts in a huge amount of time running the forum on top of his journalist and business-running roles ; it’s thoroughly selfish that some members keep needling others to the extent that Phil has to spend what should be his relaxing downtime dealing with reports of abuse etc. If members respect their family members who ask for a bit of p & q because they’re tired and stressed by work, why can’t everyone respect Phil, who heads our TWTD ‘family’?
We’re bloody lucky to have him, Gav and Mark putting huge time and effort in to give us this place for free. Quite frankly I’d have chucked it in years ago given the way some behave, despite all the pleas for them to control themselves.

The other thing i would add, and this applies to both 'sides', is that people too often respond to what I see as clearly tongue in cheek posts by going on the attack.
