Such as who. He’s been there, done it, has wonderful leadership skills, and would be great around the group, plus he’s okaying very well, every week, he’s been great for Utd, a real turnaround story. The issue is Stones and Colwell have barely kicked a ball all season, and at least one of them look like making it.., Harry not playing is fair enough, but not in the squad ahead of players who can’t be match sharp seems an odd one. He’s done a lot ol slab head. And had more to give - he’d run through a brick wall, Stones especially will get injured putting his suitcase on the team bus.

No way should he have been left out. Rice's ideal partner is either Wharton or Anderson depending on the opposition. Bad call.

I am guessing Eze, Rogers, Bellingham will all be in with Gordon, Saka, Madueke etc so lots of options. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Madueke ahead of Palmer? Well if Tuchel thinks we're too good to need Palmer I look forward to us lifting the trophy.

Normally would agree but Palmer has been cack all season. Think Tuchel is trying to pick the best team not best players. See Trent at RB for example. He is picking less talented players but those who can do the job he wants. Either way we have no chance look at Spain, France and Argentina, also due to the manager Brazil.

Apparently he's selecting Jordan Henderson so we will be fine.

Scored 41 goals in 57 games, admittedly in the Saudi League but still bang on goal scoring form.

Not sure it necessarily matters. Toney proved he could score in the PL and is on top goalscoring form going into the World Cup. Tuchel is picking on form. Not many teams will be taking 2 strikers with nearly 100 goals between them in the current season.

Surely you have to earn your place, not just be given one based on previous seasons. He’s woefully out of form and does not deserve a spot.

Watched a few games. It’s below the level of MLS. Not remotely a serious league.

Palmer, like Foden, has had a shit season. Good call for me. We won’t get anywhere near lifting the trophy regardless. Apart from rice and Kane, who do we have in decent form? Round of 8 or 16 this time I think.

We're picking a squad to win the world cup, not just a form guide. Of course form comes into it, but you don't leave out your big guns. Neymar hasn't played for two years but Ancelotti has picked him (I know Palmer is not Neymar but still).

He's had some injuries but still scored 9 from 25, I'd call that an average season. The point is that he's not a fringe player, he is genuinely world class on his day. And you're saying we only have 2 players in decent form so what about the other 24 who aren't?
