Farage claiming that the source of the leak about his 5m gift was Russian hacking. Whilst that is far from ideal given his public status at the moment, there doesn't seem to be any evidence and surely it is totally irrelevant?
The issue is he wasn't going to declare the gift/donation (depending on whom in Reform is answering) so why is he pushing the Russian hack angle as if it makes a difference?

Surely this is a Football forum? Don't think there's any need for political threads like this on here personally.
....to "Football only".
But that does mean you don't see any "Other Sport" posts, any "Music" posts, as well as every single other post.
I have been saying for years that there needs to be a specific "Politics" section so that those posters that want to relentlessly argue with each other can do so without involving others, but to no avail.
It would solve 95% of the bickering on here.
Your only option is to put the half a dozen or so main protagonists on ignore, you'd get rid of most of it and they rarely post on any other subject, so you won't really miss anything interesting.

As soon as I posted I knew that’s what your reply would be
It’s just predictable
At least you can turn to your wife and say “ I posted about Farage again”
And she’ll say “ well done dear”
Try and be a bit more creative
I sit in the warm vibrant sun, the sky a deep shade of blue. A gentle hum of birdsong in the background fills my heart with deep unbridled joy. My thoughts turn to Farage and his attempt to distract where he got the £5m gift from...
It's interesting that a certain variety of poster always jumps on threads like this about Farage/Reform not to discuss the OP but to bemoan that this is a football forum and politics shouldn't be discussed on here, yet those same posters don't appear when onceablue starts his millionth thread posting half-truths or outright lies about Starmer/Labour. It's not politics that they have an issue with, it's people pointing out uncomfortable truths about their cult and its leader. This is the Farage and Trump playbook, preach free speech while continually trying to silence critics.

I know what you mean,I think a lot of it is due to the banning of some really decent posters.
Yes I know SB they wouldn’t have got banned if they had behaved themselves or something.
Have a good day people.
You're absolutely right, those posters got banned for a reason but it wasn't anything to do with me so not sure why you're calling me out on this.
That is about the fourth time you've mentioned wrongly banned posters in the last week, if you have such an issue about those bans why don't you discuss it with Phil and put forward your case why he thought someone was racist or suchlike and you think they aren't rather than stomping around the forum like a toddler?
I'll give you a hint, I don't think "they would be fun to have a drink with" is an argument that Phil is likely to accept.

Wouldn't that just move the bickering from 'General' to 'Politics'?
Not sure what it solves?

….avoid the politics arguments that ruin the board, whilst still reading and contributing to other non football related subjects.
I agree that they’d still be arguing, but at least they’ve had their own room to do it in, leaving the rest of us alone.
It would also stop people complaining about politics threads!
You would need to be able to select two of the three options though. Otherwise you'd have tp come out of football and then go into general and vice versa.
“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it........."
Interesting snippet from a report by Ann Black of the latest Labour Party NEC meeting.
"Labour’s YouTube broadcast, repeating statements from Reform representatives, was viewed 25 million times and was intended to be uncomfortable. I feel grubby watching it and am reminded of 2023 when I was told I was being squeamish over the Rishi Sunak child abuse attacks. But even in hard electoral terms did it increase Labour’s vote, or damage Reform, or drive people away altogether because we are all disgusting?"
In my view, it goes to show that negative stories about Reform, and threads such as this one, don't cut through.
If Reform is to be defeated, Labour (in with the best chance) has to come up with a compelling narrative.
I might add that sadly right wing negative stories about parties of, and people on, the left do cut through but we have to accept the world as it is not as we'd like it to be.

….thats hardly rocket science.
Most other decent football message boards have that function or something similar.
Anyway, I know it won’t happen.

also, "surely this is a Football forum? Don't think there's any need for music/other sports threads personally."
people just need to be less snowflakey when people call out their racism/ridiculousness or the racism/ridiculousness of their heroes.
either ignore it or debate it, it's not that hard!

No I mustn’t..
In the past you mentioned Lord Lucan, textbackup and Blueasfook as examples of posters who have been banned but who were decent people.
Lucan was a decent person but he went way way over the top on one post and was deservingly banned - hopefully he’ll be back.
Texters - was full of anger. Shame as I thought he was quite funny but not sure what happened but he changed.
Blueas - was funny but again went way too far.
What I’m trying to say is that there is always a reason why posters get banned and after a time of reflection some are allowed back. You, of all people, should be fully aware of this.
