I very much doubt their supporters give a hoot what other clubs/other clubs supporters think. Why should they? They’ve just won the Premier League and played in the Champions League Final. That other supporters dislike them and put the boot in on social media just shows how successful they are.
I’ve never understood why people should be bothered what others think. At a far lower ham and egg level, the abuse my club received for having parachute money and alleged favouritism (nonsense) - who cares. It’s just jealousy. So Coventry supporters wanted anyone to be promoted but us. Yawn. Maybe they should have put away the bitterness that we beat them twice and just enjoy their moment.
As for Arsenal, I’ve no problem with them. Never have. For me it’s not saying much because I’m only interested in this club, but they’re the least irritating of the Sky big six clubs.
I'm with you on all of that. Although I'll add I was pleased they won the league, only because it broke the endless run of Citeh / Liverpool year after year.

In terms of winning the league, Arsenal seem to me to be the lesser of a fair few evils. And they haven't had a go for a while, so I don't begrudge them that. I can't get too excited about English teams winning in Europe, because it happens with such regularity now that it's not really healthy. But I didn't /want/ them to lose.
Having said that, their entire game plan could be argued to be to negate and stifle, and place a bet that the ref gave them the better of things when it came to penalty decisions. That bet failed, as Arteta's mild grumblings post-match testify. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
After the season we've had, with grappling-gate and all, it's a fitting end to the season that Arsenal are grumbling about penalty decisions, and that they've ultimately lost out on set pieces.
But I'd certainly rather them retain their title next year than have Man City or Chelsea win it. No idea how to feel about Man Utd anymore. Carrick is likeable enough, big-hair guy has been more entertaining than much of the football, and I almost feel sorry for their recent lack of success. Feeling sorry for Man U brings joy of its own kind. I'd take a Wilnis-inspired 1-1 against them next season, certainly.

Broadly agree, it also wound up loads of my colleagues who refused to back them because they're Citeh or Yanited.
PSG are the most evil of all clubs when it comes to modern football, they are nation state FC on steroids.
I can't say I like Arsenal, and this goes back to the 70s when the London clubs caused mayhem in North Stand and got far more praise from the London-based media than a lot of them deserved.
But one thing very much in their favour is the multiracial nature of their London-based fans. I think it goes back to the fact that they were one of the first teams to have a sizeable proportion of black players.

English teams have won three of the last fifteen ECLs. We are certainly not dominating that competition, the only time we’ve done that was the late 70s and early 80s.

Though English clubs have won the last two Europa and Conference Leagues. The existence of PSG muddies the waters of the Champions League. The biggest financial doper of them all.
With Arsenal, I asked myself which of their outfielders would get into the PSG team. Obviously Rice but other than that, I couldn't name one. Perhaps one of centre backs instead of Pacho? Others would make the bench but I feel the difference in quality was clear and Arteta approached the game in the only way he could to get over the line. They came close to succeeding but I wouldn't criticise him for it.
For me it’s because they are the new Man Utd in that they are probably the most plastic fanbase in the country, I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever met an Arsenal fan who’s been to watch them play, let alone a season ticket holder. By contrast I’ve met or know loads of Spurs season ticket holders.

I’m really in the “don’t care” camp. I wasn’t supporting either team last night. I don’t personally buy the line that you should support an English team, because ultimately they’re playing for their own gain, so unless we were to gain from them winning, I really wouldn’t be fussed either way.

Add that to the rather unlikeable style of football that they play and the fact Arteta seems to have carte Blanche to spend the entire game out of his technical area running around waving his arms like a whirling dervish in an obvious attempt to try and put off the opponent and influence the ref. It’s easy to see why many football people will be delighted that they lost. To the true decent fans of Arsenal I feel for them that they have lost but they remain the third most successful English club side in history and will no doubt win other trophies soon. A large percentage of football supporters will never see their club do that

As a fanbase in recent years, they have been particularly insufferable though. Especially online. Victim mentality who seem to believe that VAR and every referee is against them when, in fact, they’re statistically the most benefitted team from VAR this season, have received the most penalties this season and have had the luckiest officiating of any side from reversals this season.
And yet still they whinge. And still they moan. And still they spend all game diving and time wasting and cheating. Awful fanbase and an awful anti-football team managed by a moany tw*t and usually captained by a performative be**end in Rice.
You can say and possibly agree with all of that, but it is pretty pathetic for official team accounts to be engaging with that type of stuff.
