Exactly the same. Doesn't seem real.
| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:10 - Jun 11 with 1321 views | nrb1985 | Feel ok. What wonderful memories. All good things must end - he would have gone next season either way I’m fairly sure. The sun has risen today and will again tomorrow and all that… No time to lick wounds. | | | |

| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:20 - Jun 11 with 1265 views | Europa | Wallowing in pathos this morning. He is the face, the ringmaster, of a project that understands that football transcends the entertainment industry; it reflects and drives faith and belief in the local community and ourselves. We can stand that bit taller than 4.5 years ago. The next manager’s got a hell of a job on their hands. | | | |
| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:23 - Jun 11 with 1248 views | mellowblue | only found out 25 minutes or so ago (06.45) so was in a state of shock. He looked tired at the end of the season, more relieved than euphoric and I don't think his heart was in it for another relegation scrap. Recharge the batteries go again in 6 months. His reputation will only rise having avoided another almost certain relegation us. I rather hope the O'Neil rumours are only rumours. Not sure why he would be deserving of the manager role at our fine club. I'd even prefer Allardyce for fecks sake. 30 minutes after knowing, I am quite used to the idea of McKenna being gone but fear that the chances of Ashton making two successful manager appointments in a row might be over-optimistic. | | | |

| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:30 - Jun 11 with 1134 views | Marshalls_Mullet | No. I'm excited (and nervous) about the next step. KM has done great things, and I'm forever grateful, but I'm still a bit scarred and disappointed from our last Prem season. I didn't really expect to stay up, but thought we would put up more of a fight. | |

| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:34 - Jun 11 with 1097 views | boysof1981 | Nope. Really looking forward to see who we bring in, and seeing how he builds his new team. Let’s face it, the current team is a million miles off where it needs to be, so it needed changing. My only concern is why he actually left, I find it hard to believe he just turned his back on all the work done in the last 4/5 years, not just on the pitch but with him always talking and having a say in the new training facilities. I hope along with a new manager the owners decide on a new chairman or CEO, because Ashton has far too much power at the club and that needs to change. | | | |
| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:36 - Jun 11 with 1088 views | homer_123 | No. There is a lot to be excited about. This is merely the next chapter in a long story of football at Ipswich Town. I have enjoyed KMs time, hugely so. But I never got too high or too low, as he would say...and I won't now. I'm intrigued as to what our next step will be under Gamechanger. Yes, let's reflect on what has just been and appreciate it for what it was and learn from it. Now is the time to look forward. Constantly looking back isn't healthy, as an aside. Here's to the next 5 years. | |

| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:38 - Jun 11 with 1067 views | Dubtractor | I'm fairly calm tbh. I sort of expected him to move on this summer, albeit not in this manner, so it's probably not come as such a shock. I'm obviously gutted though, that goes without saying. More worried about who we end up with! | |

| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 07:42 - Jun 11 with 1032 views | victorysquad | Mixed feelings. Feeling slightly annoyed at how he has often spoken to other clubs / looked to move away / talk to other clubs (assuming he has been talking to Fulham) vs sadness that he won't really fulfil his potential here and take us back into Europe vs not convinced he would have kept us up this season. The most logical reason is he does not want another relegation on his CV, and he wants to move to another club. [Post edited 11 Jun 7:42]

Indeed. For one reason or another, he had no confidence in keeping us up this season. I can understand him leaving though, especially if he's feeling burned out. I can also understand him protecting his CV.

I’m the same, however I know large parts of the fan base will turn on any new manager quickly unless we are winning games from the start, which will be a challenge in the PL. I fear that whoever comes in will be on a bit of a hiding to nothing unless they perform miracles. Just look at how parts of the fan base questioned McKenna and moaned a lot last season about why we weren’t doing better.
| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 08:08 - Jun 11 with 796 views | Ftnfwest | No a bit of a daze with it really but as everyone’s said we have to look back on it all as a very special time with memories that will last forever. I suppose perfection would have been him staying another year, keeping us up and then walking off into the (non Fulham for starters) sunset, but what he’s done already goes way beyond that. I think the personal stuff is genuine, it’s about time with your family that you’ll never get back otherwise, he’s financially secure whatever, and there may be other stuff going on as well, not necessarily with himself but maybe another family member, which I can relate to as I’m going through it right now. His strength to me is making good players better. I remember Chelsea supporters on social media checking in to see how Hutchinson was getting along to which I replied, ‘he’s now better than he ever was with you’ before being able to say with confidence that he’s not coming back. What happened in those first two and a half years in particular was very special with a very special group of people so thanks Kieran for everything and good luck with whatever’s next and beyond. | | | |

A discussion for another day but with the benefit of hindsight I’ve started to think last season was probably his greatest achievement given the various SNAFUs along the way. A bit like when Jose said getting United to second was his best ever season - we all laughed at the time…
| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 08:17 - Jun 11 with 698 views | Churchman | Not in the least. Everything has a lifespan and I’m just happy that he spent 4.5 years here a has done so well for my club and actually himself. He can close the book on a job well done in what is about as precarious an industry as you can get. I’d have loved him to have given next season a go, but perhaps moving on now is right for him and us. Onwards and upwards. | | | |

I think this is absolutely right and I thought it during the season. It still makes me annoyed how many idiots we had moaning who had no idea of the context. KM (albeit it in his usual diplomatic and understated style) was practically screaming from the rooftops early on about the challenge. Huge turnover, some players unused to champ, expectation and relegation hangover etc. plus inevitable recruitment hit and miss. He was absolutely exhausted at the end. It had taken everything. Suspect that affected his thinking this summer.
| Anyone else feeling low this morning? on 08:23 - Jun 11 with 633 views | Tractor_Buck | No, I feel genuinely positive for the future of the club. KMc has left us in a much better place than he found us and leaves with my best wishes. Most importantly, during that time the owners have rebuilt the structure of the club and we move on with Gamechanger in charge and not Marcus Evans. Job done, thank you sir, enjoy your very well earned year off. | | | |
