| O'Neil now 1/2 10:35 - Jun 11 with 3262 views | Cheltenham_Blue | followed by OGS at 4/1 and Rosenior at 4/1 Hellberg at 8/1 Then a massive gap to a stack of others including John Eustace? at 20s Some it's easy to see why. O'Neil allegedly about to be sacked by Strasbourg. OGS a friend of McKenna and Pert Rosenior has a faint link with Town. After that we get into the stuff where people aren't just putting 2 and 2 together. Of those top 4. OGS seems the most likely to me. | |

Despite his Norwich connection, he's had experieance of a relegatyion battle and he's stayed up(?) OGS been out of the PL too long for me. Rosenior doesn't come across as a relegation battle manager. And Eustace....Nope. [Post edited 11 Jun 10:46]

Then he leaves and they turn in to one of the best teams in league (for a third of a season).

OGS would be my first choice as Frank has ruled himself out. Wouldn’t be upset with either GO or LR but OGS just seems like the perfect fit.

Thing is, if you are passionate about coaching you are never out of it. I can only talk for my sport not football, but even when I wasn’t in it I was watching games around the Uk and Europe. I knew most players, good academy players and academy players I felt I could turn into something. I was constantly on it. In some ways more than when I was coaching because without the politics of it, I had more time. When I went back into it I had the data, the vision, players names in my head and felt fresh and desperate to use that knowledge. Sports management is politically tiring. I think OGS would be excellent and more so because he’s had a decent amount of time to regroup, reflect and empty the bins. I would imagine there was a lot of refuse at Man U. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

My only issue is he's only managed Cardiff as a lower in the league side and failed there. Managing Man Utd, Molde and Besiktas are completely different. Top sides in their leagues and Turkey and Norway I can assume are very different leagues too.

You might be right. My comment was more regarding him being out of it for too long rather than his ability. Hopping from job to job in sport makes it become exactly that, a job, like any other. When you are out of it for a while the next appointment is a newly renovated place and that makes it a far more enjoyable place to be, rather than being just the next place. A break is certainly not a negative in my experience and the point I was trying to make. [Post edited 11 Jun 11:00]

| O'Neil now 1/2 on 11:01 - Jun 11 with 1816 views | Radlett_blue | Solskjaer would be an absurd appointment. Hard to estimate what he achieved at Old Trafford, where he would have had one of the biggest budgets in the league. Hardly a progressive looking appointment. Rosenior seems like a decent guy but has achieved very little. Hellberg could be interesting. I don't care about O'Neil's brief spell as a Norwich player but he only seems to have done well as a caretaker. What we really need is someone who can recruit well, especially from Europe. | |

OGS Arguably has the best record at Utd since Fergie left, 2 successive top 4 finishes, one of those coming second.

| O'Neil now 1/2 on 11:12 - Jun 11 with 1543 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Solskjaer had Mckenna and Carrick doing all of his coaching at Manchester United. He is a nice fella, good pedigree in the game of course but there are some serious questions as to whether he is actually a good coach himself. Not sure he is as appealing as some are making out. Wouldn't be totally against it though. Rather that then Rosenior or GON or Edwards. | |

GoN left a Wolves side full of internationals including ones that they sold for £62million, £50 million, £35 million in 19th. I'd hate to see what he would do with a sqaud that didn't have that level of talent at his disposal.
