On the coast we had a sea fret or is it a haar yesterday. It was only 17 deg in my shed. Very pleasant if a tad damp.

What you call it depends on where your local viking came from.

I actually love going to Landguard Point, fairly quiet beach, you can see Harwich in the distance, even take the foot ferry over if you are so inclined, and the water is calm. Bonus of watching the cargo ships roll into the Port of Felixstowe, too, which I find quite peaceful and enjoyable. |  |

On 23rd July take in the Landguard Fort. Then board the ferry to Harwich and make your way to the Redoubt Beer Festival. Train back.
It is is grim but somebody has to do it.
