This is true. Since the last world cup they have played 5 European Teams at home. Lost to Sweden, drew Poland, drew Germany, lost Switzerland, and drew Portugal. These were friendlies but their fan base don't let them slack in friendlies.

In such a high liquid market it takes millions not £1000 to deviate from the opening odds. England opened up around 2.10 on the soft bookies and have drifted a fraction. They are still clear favorites though and will be in Mexico. I do however anticipate England’s odds to drift as we get closer to kick off on Monday morning. [Post edited 2 Jul 15:35]

Man for man we're stronger.
No doubt they have a ridiculous record there, 2 defeats in the past 89 competitive games, with the last coming 13 years ago. As others have said, they face a lot of poor opposition in that though, I'm sure ours would read as such at Wembley if it were all against San Marino and Luxembourg.
No doubt conditions make it a tough test, the altitude, the vocal home crowd, the South American pashun. Ref needs to stand strong, and England need a faster start than we've seen these last few games. |  | | |

Could add here that although Mexico have won 4/4 and England only 3/4, the latter are "in better form" by most underlying metrics - have the 3rd best xG difference (Mexico 14th), 1st for big chances created (Mexico 12th), 4th for shots on target (Mexico 24th), 4th for touches in opposition box (Mexico 26th). Not giving Mainoo any minutes so far is just one of many absolutely baffling decisions TT has made this WC which will ultimately costs us I fear.
Brilliant coach, and I'm a big fan, but seems to be losing it a bit in his latter years.

I'm just gobsmacked that Mexico were allocated ALL of their first 5 WC games (3 group, round of 32, now round of 16) at the Aztec of all places, their home stadium that gives them an immediate advantage over all other sides because their players are acclimatised to its altitude of over 7,000'.
Was the draw supposed to be random? How on earth can the WC be considered a 'level playing field' if it was deliberately allocated? |  |
