Sorry, but I don't care.
He did well for us last season with his goals, but he wasn't a shoe-in or a ninety-minuter. Goals dropped off in the second half of tbe season. Never thought he was too wrapped up in the club, too. I think he's a lad who'll bounce around a lot of clubs without settling.... and we might as well pick up the cash when he's hot.

I do find this one strange, we haven't just been relegated or even stayed in the Championship, we have been promoted to what is generally accepted as the best league in world football.
He has proven himself to be an exceptional player at Championship level, a flat track bully if you will, who has his own personal goal of the season competition due to the regularity of his top class finishes.
But, for one reason or another, he is unproven in the Premier League, so why wouldn't he want to show everyone, himself included, that he is good enough to play at that level? McKenna really wanted him for our left side last time we went up, so he clearly thought he had the quality required; he wanted him ahead of Odobert & Jack Clarke, and only for Aston Villa messing him & us around, he would have gotten him early on. Due to injuries, when he did finally arrive, he was primarily played on the wrong side, so we can't really judge him a failure for that, when he came in with very little football played & them picked up a bad injury himself.
What we did see, and continued to see in the Championship, is his workrate; he tackles & tracks back, something he had from the start with us. Conversely, Jack Clarke had to change his game a lot since joining us, in order to bring that element to his game, and will be much better off for that this time around in the PL.
Philogene has changed agents & this 'story' has appeared in a number of sources now, so there definitely seems to be something in it. Those who are saying they don't care, & let him off, might be undervaluing him somewhat, because he is a very talented player with the ability to create space in tight areas, in order to get a shot away ... and what a shot it is when it comes. I don't know how much we will get for him (has to be £22m + some profit) but it will definitely take £30m+ to replace him in the current market. It's a pity for me. | |

Yeah, not generally a recipe for success to sell your best attacking player upon promotion. Couple of seasons ago Sheffield United and Burnley sold theirs and were basically relegated before the season began. You don't want to be making your squad worse before you've even started seriously improving it.
I don't see what good Jaden thinks is going to come of agitating for a move really. If anything his reputation will have declined slightly since joining us so it's unlikely that we'll get appealing offers. The clubs quoted - Roma, Bologna, Benfica - aren't paying £30m for a Championship player. He'd be better off actually playing well enough to justify the kind of move he wants. |  |

I think he's a good player, I'm v happy to have him here this sesson but if we sold him for 25 to 30 mil and got Fatawu for 15 to 20 I wouldn't complain about that either.
