| Digital Ticketing Update 15:33 - Jul 23 with 5713 views | SheffordBlue | I'm sure lots of people won't be happy with the move away from physical season tickets but for once the club seem to have anticipated some of the questions/concerns and addressed them here: https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/20 Personally think this will be like when they went cashless. Loads of worry beforehand that disappears almost instantly afterwards. | |

| Digital Ticketing Update on 19:20 - Jul 23 by SitfcB | As per usual. Club have encouraged giving tickets to friends for a couple of years. Ashton even said he’s more worried about empty seats more than anything as an empty seat is less money spent in the ground |
That's good to hear, I'm just a believe when I see it kind of bloke and I'm always skeptical of these changes- especially as last season when they brought in the resale stuff, they managed to sell mine and Arthur's tickets without us giving them permission to for a game, loooool.

| Digital Ticketing Update on 19:29 - Jul 23 by BloomBlue | Now I'm confused, what is stopping me taking a screenprint of the season ticket and simply WhatsApp it to a mate so they can use it (obviously after money has changed hands)? Or are they saying their scanning software will only accept it if its in google or apple wallets.? |
Most ticket/wallet apps disable screen grab on the phone

There’s not going to be a QR code to scan, is there? I thought it was all NFC from this year, like it was optionally for matchday tickets towards the end of last season? That could put a complete stop to sharing through Secure Element Binding, without loaning your actual phone to someone else.

sorry missed that, much appreciated thank you x

This is what I’d assumed, but as punctuated by our perfect brothers- I haven’t actually read the press release yet, so have no idea!

| Digital Ticketing Update on 18:25 - Jul 23 by Dubtractor | On the faqs it says you can forward to a friend or family member as long as they have a ticket account. No major hardship. |
And am I right in thinking that they don't have to purchase membership for me to set up a family member or friend with a supporter ID?
| Digital Ticketing Update on 21:51 - Jul 23 with 1112 views | The_Major | Pffft. Not exactly shuffling sideways awkwardly through a narrow turnstile clutching a small piece of paper after handing £1.50 over, is it? Game's gone. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Digital Ticketing Update on 22:53 - Jul 23 with 1023 views | Churchman | It’ll be fine. I never fancied train and airline tickets in the phone wallet, but I’ve got used to it. I’m a bit nostalgic for the joy of the little book of tickets at the start of the season, a bit like holiday wallets/tickets. Felt substantial, but it is what it is now. | | | |

| Digital Ticketing Update on 19:06 - Jul 23 by Libero | Genuinely, I don't think most of my mates who I'd give the ticket to *do* have an account- but I guess they can just make one? All just another inconvenience/barrier that isn't supporter centered. |
Burner phones required🤣

| Digital Ticketing Update on 19:00 - Jul 23 by Dubtractor | Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of the proposed system, but as long as it doesn't make things too restrictive I'm not getting too upset by it. |
It’s the direction of travel. Read an Everton fan last season saying, when he couldn’t make a game he’d give his ticket to his Dad. Everton changed rules so you can only transfer tickets to members. His Dad wasn’t going to buy a membership for the odd game. A shame when little things get eroded with the advance of technology.

That's what I'm worried about. Can I still give my ticket to a relative if they aren't a member?

They don't have to be a member but will need to create a free account. You can then add them to your Friends and Family and the process for sending them your ticket from the website is then really easy.

| Digital Ticketing Update on 08:39 - Jul 24 with 675 views | Cheltenham_Blue | This really doesn't bother me, but I wish the Premier League and the clubs would stop dressing it up as 'reducing plastic usage'. Take a look in the bins after the Sunderland game, they will be full to the brim of single use plastic cups, but you wouldn't have seen a single season ticket | |

It’s simply cost saving, that’s the long and short of it. Happening with everything.

Whilst I don't think this is his level YET, 2/3 solid PL seasons and I do think we'd see similar. [Post edited 24 Jul 9:34]

Whilst I'm not defending Ratcliffe as he's a prick, United have a massive problem with it and have for years. I'm also a bit sceptical about her story - there's 19 of them and she manages all the admin is at least going to flag on the system I'd say. They've made it all about the kid, but I can see why the club are looking at them and it's weird that it's not all of their accounts.

It’s not unheard of- my Great Uncle used to organise for a group of anything between 8-10 depending on games. It’s just all a bit w@nk.

Yeah? Well my dad used to do it for 50 odd! But that was supporter's branch.... If I was guessing I'd say the kid's ticket has been upgraded several times as they're not taking him away in midweek or off to Europe every time. And I bet he's not the only one either in that group. Asking people to be honest and not do it etc just isn't going to happen, so I'm not sure what clubs do

The problem is it doesn't feel like we're getting the whole story, which raises the spidey sense factor with it. I dont know enough about Man Utds ticketing rules or have enough info to judge this specific case. But as others have said I know Man Utd have had a massive problem in the past with season ticket holders, as families would just keep them even when the owner died, just to go themselves alot of time, but also to sell on at profit Like theres literally people posting under that womens story on X, groups that are already offering multiples of tickets for the Ipswich game And then you read that Liverpool link I posted and theyre talking about organised crime gangs profiting & getting involved, where tickets got put for resale and then resold multiple times. One Liverpool fan highlighted someone had paid 500quid for a ticket to sit next to him. Liverpool resale platform is face value only so where did the extra money go. So there's clearly a big problem impacting the bigger clubs, which will trickle down to smaller clubs too in time if only they took the measures to counteract it. If digital ticketing helps fix some of thesr issues then its probably not a bad thing.

Actually, that's not strictly true. You can enable screen shots on Google Wallet via your settings. BUT, (there's always a BUT!) the issue is that the ticket will only scan via NFC like making a contactless card payment, so therefore a screenshot wouldn't work, just like you can't make a card payment from a screenshot 😊
