My only criticism of him here last time is he needs to be more forgiving of his team mates. He was expecting a lot from our midfield last time, and when the pass wasn't right or he fell the wrong side of the ball he would start to lose patience with them. He had a very good World Cup and is by all accounts a very good player, he just needs to be more of a team player and he will make a good number 9 for us. Also very capable of scoring worldies from nothing. |

This would make a lot of sense. The defence from the front would be unreal with Maeda, Ensico and Fatawu in there. He knows GO, knows a good portion of the squad, and knows the area. Not much settling in required, and should be able to hit the ground running.

This is ultimately a good trait for him to have providing he can use it positively to push the rest of the group around him. I'd rather see him react like that, than just accept it and not push for better from those he plays with. |  | | |

Oh we were bad. If Delap didn’t have the August - Jan he had I think there’s a chance we’d have been looking at some uncomfortable records.
Arsenal scored a goal from a corner that looked like a training exercise rounds some cones, that was probably my low point.
End of the day we weren’t ready, for me it was all about last season and getting back, that was the pivotal one and then going again with a lot more in place. If we stayed down with that squad, I’d have been a worried, in terms of the squad contracts and resale value but we dodged a bullet and can build again. [Post edited 30 Jul 12:59]

I would not be disappointed with a front Four of Emersonn, Enciso, A.N.Other & Akpom, could certainly be a lot worse. I think it's time for Hirst to move on.
