Featuring virtually none of our nailed on starters, I fear it's going to be a difficult season for a few of you.

Bingo, there it is! The first one I've seen blaming our manager who's been in place for a matter of weeks for destroying our club, after a few preseason results. Pahahahaha!

Having been at the Oxford game I feel that was just a waste of a pre-season friendly and feel sorry for Kipre and J Clarke. Too many players out of position and too many that looked like they can't be arsed. I know we have injuries, integrating players, and others too come in, it just seemed a waste of a time. Seems like GON is just focussed on the Wycombe game when you compare the split squads.

It doesn't mean too much but shows our depth of squad is very weak when we were outfought and outrun by L1 players.

Serious question here.

Gary O’Neill has been manager here for just under 40 days. What, in all seriousness, do you think he’s done to even begin to destroy ā€˜all the good will the clubs [sic] built up over the last few years’?

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

I’ll be amazed if we stay up, so that puts me in the pessimistic camp. But that is an incredible piece of work that even the worst of us pessimists would struggle to come up with. Superb TWTDery.

You do what you can to get match fitness into your half-built squad in friendlies against lesser opposition.

This can't be that difficult to understand, Shirley?

Maybe it is.

Didn't you say KMs time was up in December last year, and if he didn't leave we had no chance of promotion?

I think we know the depth isn’t there and are still hoping to do quite a bit of business. If the only aim was fitness then I suppose it must have been worth it. We’re still quite a way out because of the later league start this year as well of course.

It’s a long way from when we were convincingly seeing off quality competition in that mini tournament after promotion from L1, but it’s bound to be with all the churn. If we’re like it the week before the season starts then I reckon we can all start getting justifiably worried. For now I’m trying to ignore it all.

Then play behind closed doors friendlys or in house matches. Shirley you can see that 90 mins was a total waste or maybe not.

It was just how many are out of position. Play Burns at RB not Ogbene especially when Oxford were making Ogbene look stupid. Why not swap it around when you can see it's not working. Why play Walle CM, he isn't that type of physical player. He did OK but what did GON learn.

I think we took on too much with the 2 friendlies in one day. Maybe balance the squads a bit better so we are more competitive in both games? I get the fitness thing, but how much does that really help if you are out of position.

I am not overly worried as know our best XI now and by the start of season is much better than at Oxford. I just feel as a club we could have got more out of the friendly than that very tepid performance.

Plus grumpy at paying £20 a ticket to watch that.

It does seem like over-reach when we’re playing players who have no chance of being in the squad. But then you can’t give the whole squad 90 mins without the 2 games either, so what to do šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø.

I can see why people would get peed off with paying £20 for just a training run out though.
