If games in the PL ended at 45, 60 or 75 minutes we'd have stayed up. We dropped 15 potential points in 2nd halves. A subs bench that could earn us points rather than losing them might have given us a chance. |
Yeah, we need four good senior CM options with a bit of a mix of defensive nous, energy, guile. It looks exactly what we’re pulling together. It was obviously a weak spot last time out. The kind of loan fee and wages you'd expect to pay for a player of the level we'd want is going to be much of a muchness with year 1 of a transfer fee, so it wouldn't help much on that front. |  |

I think ypu may be right, but apart from when we're in it I dont follow the Prem league! so im completely lost as to which established prem strikers may be available to loan. We'd surely look to have someone experienced rather than a young and untested one.

If we want him, and he can now see we are not here to roll over, then MA should go get him and stop messing around. Leverkusen don't need to sell and its not like he is in final year of contract so they lose him for nothing next summer they can afford to stand firm. I reckon a €30M base with €5M add ons if we stay up would do it.
Edit - just seen Phil's article I didn't realise we were already so close to what Leverkusen want, it was reported previously they want €40M not €35M. [Post edited 22 Aug 22:23]
