They’re mad to go there, other than it’s just a job to them and presumably Leicester pay well for L1. Mind you, they could still have a good season if/when Martin gets sacked. Which I’d expect to be a real possibility sooner rather than later if he carries on like this (unless their owners are so clueless they fall for his bullsh*t).

Can confirm Burns is already a boo boy and getting pelters, especially as he's keeping a young loanee out the side. Chapters has been good but injury prone, injured twice already this season.

A much more rapid demise than ours was. Ours was a really tough watch as slowly slid further towards the abyss. It also shouldn't be forgotten that their overspending that helped them achieve that success caught up with them and contributed to their slide. That said, appointing Russell Martin is the equivalent of our appointing Hurst and then Lambert.

I still can't quite understand how anyone involved with Leicester thought Martin would be a good fit for League one. Surely anyone with any understanding of football could see that was a terrible fit? I don't think he is a good manager full stop, but for that league it is an awful fit!

Apparently he won 3 of the last 28 league games he manged, 17 of which were in a league where his team were expected to beat every team apart from maybe 1

Owners don't have any understanding of football! Feel sorry for the 70 & 80 year old Leicester fans on BBC Sport site saying they've never been so embarrassed. They're getting lots of love and sympathy from fans of other clubs I'm pleased to say, many of whom have probably been there themselves & got the T shirt with their own clubs.

Wes is being pilloried as "past-it", 'legs have gone', bobbins and "just a waste of three year contracts for two former players who got promoted from this league five years ago". I'd retire if I was him....

Naaa, he'll come good and win the fans over. I'm not sure Russell Martins style of football particularly plays to Wes' strengths but looks like Martins on borrowed time already

Burns is suited to a team that plays quick football on the transition, taking advantage of space. The exact opposite of a Martin team.

Of course he won't. Either he will wait it out until Martin is gone (I doubt it will take anything like until Christmas) and then (assuming they get a half decent manager in) show them exactly why he is a very good footballer of at least Championship standard. That or he will break down injured and take his money! (Which can't be helped if that is what happens and does to many footballers especially the older they become and the lower the level of facilities and care they are given.) I find it intriguing the Leicester fan on this thread mentions Chaplin as having had 2 injuries already (which he has clearly recovered very quickly from) but it shows they are at much greater risk than they were at PR.

I'm not sure that's true at all, Leicester have a fantastic state of the art training ground at Seagrave.

This could sound harsh but.. Burns knew the club he was signing for. One with an ever increasingly under pressure owner. A club off the back of a double relegation. He also knew the manager he was signing for. A manger who seems to be a magnet for failure and fan unrest. Burns could have been getting substitute minutes in the Premier League. He'd have come on against Liverpool last night, he's a better option than McAteer. It's actually a bit sad he's in League One.

My Leicester supporting mate reckons they’ll struggle to sack him because of the lucrative contract they’ve given him. It’s an odd one with Russell Martin. He first came on my radar when the Guardian did a feature on him as MK Dons manager in league 1 and I seem to recall they were enjoying ridiculous percentage possession stats that were up there with Barcelona, as the highest in European football. Subsequently did a great job at Southampton in denying Leeds that final promotion spot with us a couple of seasons back, but it’s dramatically fallen apart for him since then. It might all turn around for him at Leicester in the next few months but the vast majority didn’t want him to start with, so it will probably turn even more poisonous in the coming weeks. One final point, my mate said the only game they’ve enjoyed this season was the Carabao cup game against us because we let them play out from the back unlike the league 1 teams who’ve swarmed on them and pressed them into giving up possession in hideously exposed situations…
