| Russell Brand described as an actor and comedian 19:34 - Oct 14 with 3781 views | GlasgowBlue | Has he ever been funny? Other than the time he dipped into politics and one of our members followed him like a cult. That was funny. Reading today's court proceedings, what an utter scumbag he is. Doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word "no". [Post edited 14 Oct 19:34]

I seem to remember his old signature saying he doesn't think about the posters he has on ignore, so not quite sure how that works.

He spoke childishly about his old fella and gave it creepy names, and harassed a man about shagging his daughter on national radio. I'd like to see Ronnie Barker top that...!

This was the same period when Joey Barton was being embraced by progressives as a misunderstood working-class intellectual or 'philosopher king.' Strange days indeed.

You just reminded me of when Jamie carragher gave that long apology for spitting at a young girl, and Joey Barton did a VoxPop on how bad his behaviour was | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross harassing Andrew Sachs was a low point.

The rules of the board are that you can’t post about idols of the left in a negative context. You must know that by now?

More important rules don’t use a rape trial to have a go at another poster. Nothing to do with left or right - just common decency.

When the OP heard about the detail on the news or his phone, you just know his first thought was, I’ll be able to have a pop at dolly on twtd.

Nailed it. Correlation doesn't equal causation but sometimes it does and it's been pretty civil on here the last few weeks. I'll let people draw their own conclusions. SB

Yes that was disgusting!

| Russell Brand described as an actor and comedian on 09:32 - Oct 15 with 1093 views | Churchman | I’ve never understood why Brand has attracted any sort of following. He is about as amusing as a colonoscopy. From the 2014 link in this thread: ‘He is volatile, vulnerable, troubled, mercurial, but unlike most people in public life, he makes no attempt to hide it. His emotional honesty helps to explain his appeal, and his ability to inspire people who had switched off from politics.’. It was a popular view at the time. Yes, I get that he is left wing so is deeply fashionable and I suppose that carefully cultivated appearance helps. But I never saw him as anything but ignorant, boorish and plain dull. The dreadful Andrew Sachs affair showed him to be a pathetic bully too. Had I been a relation of Mr Sachs, Mr Brand’s career would long be over for that. I have deliberately not commented on the current trial. Like everyone else, he is innocent until proven guilty. [Post edited 15 Oct 9:47]

If you were a fan of his before all the revelations about his true character came out. maybe the OP wants to bank for future reference that when I was seven I wrote into Jim'll Fix It asking if I could meet Basil Brush (didn't, but did receive a signed photo (Basil, not Jimmy) through the post)
