In fairness on this occasion after closer observation.. I notice the list of unavailable players for a huge variety of reasons it seems was longer then who was available….. but this itself is an ongoing issue for them isn’t it…. I consider myself a fairly positive poster on here, but I have to disagree about your view of that match. There seems to be quite a bit of selective memory concerning the Utd game on here, recently, from a few posters. Yes, there was a good bit of luck/bias involved in the handball goal. The slip can be seen as unlucky for us, but Utd pounced on it, and punished us, and finished well, as you'd expect most Premier League teams to. Let's not turn into Leeds/Leicester by declaring them deflection F.C, and finally, it was hardly a contentious penalty either.
People need to remember that in that 30-minute period, Utd carved us to pieces, it was extremely messy from us, and hard viewing at the time. We played well up to the Nunez slip, and that goal was against the run of play, but we didn't deal with it at all well, and the 5 conceded in that period was not much more than Utd or we deserved. Thankfully, we showed a bit more fight after that period, and then again in the next match. I fully believe that those 30 minutes may prove to have done us more good than harm. We have definitely improved defensively since that match. Let's not pretend it was anything other than a horror half an hour for us, rather than just luck for them, though. |  | | |
