What's our best team after watching this? 21:46 - Aug 18 with 2828 views | CokeIsKey | Obviously must keep most of the first team. For strikers, I seriously think Drinan might be our best option having seen Jackson in the second half. It's hard to choose between Bishop and Mizouni but I would go with this: ----------------------Holy --KVY---Chambers--Woolf---Ward -----Downes---Mizouni---Huws ---Dobra--------Drinan-----Edwards

Probably slightly behind Norwood but not while he's injured. As for Hawkins, the jury's still out until we can see him play.

Holy is injured and didn't play tonight and you've picked him. Hawkins has played plenty of games at this level for a decent League 1 side. He's miles ahead of Drinan.

What's our best team after watching this? on 22:03 - Aug 18 with 2636 views | AlexGreen | Drinian, at 22, has never scored a league goal at any level of English football in his entire career, scored one goal in the first pre-season fitness building game against Colchester (and a penalty) and you're putting him in the first team? He's nowhere near even the bench at the moment, I'd be surprised if he plays one minute for us this season.

What's our best team after watching this? on 22:25 - Aug 18 with 2425 views | pointofblue | Hopefully we’ll settle on a 4-3-3/4-5-1 to start with; that’ll help with familiarity even with players moving in and out of the team. Goalkeeper: Think Lambert will lean towards Holy but may depend on pre-season Right back: Vincent-Young Left back: Ward Centre back: Woolfenden Centre back: Chambers Central midfield: Downes Central midfield: ??? Central midfield: ??? Wide right attack: Edwards Wide left attack: Jackson Central attack: Norwood I think Skuse will slowly be eased out whilst Huws and Bishop can be injury prone and Dozzell flatters to deceive. Nolan hasn’t made much of an impact, El Mizouni lacks experience whilst Judge hasn’t hit the heights expected. Getting the balance in the middle will be key for the new season, namely the two players who partner Downes.

What's our best team after watching this? on 23:38 - Aug 18 with 2153 views | StokieBlue | Nice that you've decided to disregard all of Jackson's performances last year where he was our best forward and instead base your decision on a single meaningless friendly. Jackson should probably play wide right but to decide that Drinan deserves to be the focal point upfront because he scored 2 against a fairly poor Colchester is totally bizarre. SB

El Mizouni and Dobra should be starting a significant amount of games this season. They'll never get experience if we don't play them. Having a run of 8 games for Dobra and then someone like Sears or Edwards (like you suggest) coming in for a run of games would be good. We don't want to be in the same place next season where they haven't had a decent run of games and we are making the same excuses not to play them. Whether they sink or swim is on them if they get consistent runs of 8 games. But it is definitely on us if we are too timid to give them the opportunity.

Hawkins and Sears will be in most squads so Lambert does have tricky calls to make!!

"Jury is still out until we have seen him play". Lambert has not signed him as a back-up to Drinan. Of course, that doesn't mean a very impressive pre-season from Drinan and a poor one from Hawkins shouldn't change that pecking order. Up front currently the order will be Norwood, Jackson, Hawkins, followed by some combination of Sears, Folami, Morris, Lankester and Drinan.
