The weird thing is though... 17:19 - Dec 12 with 2350 viewsunstableblue

If you had 3 from bishop, Downes, Edwards, Norwood and kvy in that team... even with the sub standard technical/tactical set-up, we’d win the game!!,,,

They were much better drilled than us, good crosses all game and moved the ball well, in fact their first goal was one of the best goals I've seen at Portman Road for a very long time. Can't say the same thing about us, it's as if Lambert just trains the players how to pass backwards.

We had 3 of your list available for most games last season and finished 11th.

No we wouldn’t. Bonehead would play KVY in goal, Downes at centre forward, Norwood also in goal (just in case) and the berk would forget to put Edwards in the team while dreaming of those glorious days at St Mirren

We had two of them in the side for a fair chunk of the match when we played Pompey in the cup.

Didn't end well.

I just think Pompey were better coached, and on the day had better players, but when we went at them we unsettled them as in the FA cup game

I just don’t think their squad matches ours

But their manager is better

I just don’t think they’re as good as the chances and play makes out

Our players were so weak across the park

The town players I reference- Downes et al could have taken that

We dominated the second half against Pompey and Norwood was the catalyst

I’m not excusing Lamberts or today’s performance the manager has to go

All I’m saying is that Pompey team were easier to beat than we think

Just about ever club’s manager is better. There can’t be too many professional clubs with an owner as pathetic as ours either

I think its because they've apparently sunk their existence into proving that 'their' man is considerably better than what came before and simply won't admit that they're as bad or worse.

We saw a lot of it when Magilton went and Keane came in, when people made endless excuses for him despite the fact that he was palpably worse than Jim in every sense.

Likewise some with Jewell and Keane.

And now, we see it with US with That Man vs Mick. Mick wasn't 'technical' but because That Man continues to occasionally makes media utterances ahoy plain the same way across the club, etc then he's desperate for an angle, any angle.

You're right, their squad doesn't match ours, I still don't think anyone's does and it definitely didn't last season.

Yet here we are.

So right Herbs. Tired of hearing this 'technical argument from some. Attacking football that creates chances and puts pressure on the opposition is what I want. In L1 we should be scoring goals not trying to pass the ball to death with naf all penetrator. Lambert out!

Sorry N2 but people have completely misunderstood the meaning of my post, because it probably wasn’t very clear.

Lambert has to go the shape, tactics, passages of play were woeful today. Even with the injuries and the weakened side.

My point more was I just didn’t think Pompey players man fir man were that strong they were just in a better system and in better form.

My point was even in the sh!t Lambert system from today - with our stronger players on, we could have won. Norwood bossed them in the FA cup.

Apologies for the conclusion, I think the board are looking for a Lambert sympathiser to ravage!,

Hah ha ha ha.... you just don’t get it do you..

If this squad was coached technically and tactically to the right level, we’d walk the league, perhaps even with parts of the injury list returned

Every time you criticise the term technical, you’re debunking your own criticism of Lambert, it’s ironic

Jacket had done some technical work on certain passages of play and players that we had no answer for, see first goal
