They’ve had a really easy run of games since Mick took over, if they’re still unbeaten in a couple of weeks time then the play offs could be on.
Cardiff gone from 17th to 7th... on 22:07 - Feb 13 with 2843 views | chrismakin | What I don't get about the Mick thing Is the guy had 5 years at town, 5, yet the way the 'outers' are moaned at, it's like he'd only been given a year Plus Lamberts win % is 32, Micks was only 5% better at 37% I think those first couple seasons cover up the painful final couple imo. Beating Norwich in the play offs will be the icing on the cake!

he's a capable manager, something Lambert is not But some people are making it out like he's the best manager since sliced bread, despite having a poor win% overall and having 5 years at town whereby the end of it, it was going south rather than going anywhere promising I just don't get the love for Mick like he won the league with us.

To be fair you and all the others took 18 months to realise shambert is a fraud so I'm not surprised that you still can't understand how good Mick is

If hes that good why has it taken so long before another championship side went for him? Genuine question as if he is that good why does it take bottom or rotting clubs to go in for him. Ah ok yeah hes good at a certain job. But not one long term which is exactly what my point is. He out grew his time at town yet you cant see it. And I never blindly followed Lambert. At one point I thought I could see why Evan gave him a long term project however it wasnt long before I saw It wasnt going anywhere..

Mick is excellent at what he does - he takes severely underperforming clubs, identifies who is needed and then the team kicks on. Unfortunately after that initial burst he cannot go on and he runs out of ideas. Maybe things will be different at Cardiff this time. He also has a reputation of dull long ball football - maybe undeserved but he has that reputation which hinders a high end championship club from appointing him.

Probably the small matter of him managing Republic of Ireland for 1 and a half years inbetweeen... Also, APOEL aside he’s not had a short spell anywhere in his career. 4 years at Millwall, 3 at Sunderland, 6 at Wolves and 6 here. For someone who isn’t any good at a long term job he sure does seem to spend a lot of time everywhere he goes - most managers don’t even last as long as he had at Sunderland these days, let alone the longer spells he’s averaged everywhere else

In all of those jobs he reached his sell by date! Is there one instance where he actually left on good terms with the fans?(Cyprus excluded)

Pretty much all managers that don’t jump ship reach their sell by date, but it seems to take a lot longer with McCarthy than most

Please. He’s Evans’ best manager during his shambolic tenure. Topping that list of absolute tripe does not make him a magician. I hated town at the time. Just because I hate town more now doesn’t change how bad it was then to be a town fan.

Not sure why people have to keep harping on about him tbh. He’s had three jobs since he’s lef5 us and now has his fourth. Hardly a stayer is he.

Quite. How long are people going to live in this parallel universe where Mick stayed forever and Evans never had to hire another manager?
