You can't blame Phil and the EADT etc., for knowing who butters their bread, but I wish (as I think is reasonable to assume) the club didn't effectively issue D-notices on anything that might not be 100% positive, or cause questions (on, say, recruitment) to be asked. [Post edited 6 Apr 21:19]

Have the club banned it? Or is it just not appropriate? I think whatever the truth is, there is a duty of care to employees that goes beyond small town gossip.
I think as fans it’s easy to forget we don’t deserve to infringe on the privacy and dignity of players no matter who they are. |  |

Does it? Unless we know the details and when and why he’s not playing you can’t say that fairly.
If the club address it in the most neutral way possible it draws attention to it and fuels speculation. If we as fans need to know his current status etc. I’m sure they’ll make it public. We’ve got far bigger concerns as it is. | |

I hate to be apart of the rumour mill but he certainly won’t be playing for us again.
And it, like the brandon Williams situation being something known about, is not something needed to be spoken about. So I understand the club keeping quiet.
