It’s been a good week for ITFC 20:06 - Jun 4 with 4313 viewsSteve_M

Ashton starting, two good signings, kit released, Ed Sheeran giving it global attention and a promotion.

A long way to go before the start of the season, even longer before we will have achieved anything but it’s a nice start.

... and from the outside looking in with all what’s going on, we actually look like a ‘functional’ football club.

Long may it continue.

Really good week, hopefully more to come. I think we've all become so used to feeling jaded and dejected that all this will take some time to sink in! Roll on next season, really looking forward to seeing what Cook can do.

We should have held on to kit, will be another one that comes back to bite us in the future I'm afraid.

It’s not finished yet either! I doubt there will be any signings over the weekend but could get some more developments towards that

Probably not but I wouldn’t have thought he’d have his phone off completely if we’re in for players that other clubs are interested in.

Yep, really nice to have some positive news for us all to chew over after the dismal end to the season, plus understandable concern about the extent of the clear-out.

That we've got two decent signings sorted this early is a great start to the rebuild.

No, never goes to football matches on a Saturday or Sunday.

Fantastic week and chuffed to bits with both signings.

It would have been no chance whatsoever for both of them to have signed for us had Evans remained our owner. He would have continued taking us lower and lower and some League One and Two useless free agents would have been our transfer 'targets'.

How different feeling with him not being our owner anymore. This nightmare seems well and truly over.

I nearly agreed that there’s not football to spoil it either; the Cook appointment and takeover were very positive until results intervened.

Tbf, weeks when we don’t play have tended to be our best for quite some time.

All feels right so far doesn't it.

And the signings, both 26 on 3 years deals.

Should just be the normal approach but for us it seems too good to be true.

And. It has to be mentioned Dyers part 2 interview where he speaks very highly of PC. It's all coming together as we need it to.

Cracking signings .. Americans clearly mean business ... this is just the beginning ... they won't make any money on their investment until we reach the Premier League.

The Championship is for them a mere stepping stone back to where we belong.

You’re right though, the other good news was quickly punctuated by a sh*t performance, now we don’t have that to worry about at least

Could all go wrong opening day of course but I genuinely can’t remember the last time it felt this good to be an Ipswich fan

Possibly just hope playing tricks with me, but I sense a rapidly growing ‘cohesion’ about the club. Interesting that KD alluded PL was never available, Evans liked to save money and Mick was really only interested in the first team. Add Chambers’ comments about people like Milton going leaving fewer people to do more, it’s easy to see how the club’s fallen apart. It’s been gutted.

People will come and go, but if the set up is right that won’t matter. Mark Ashton maybe the devil incarnate, as that Bristol City dude indicated, but the new appointees bring structure and form.

As for the new players, It’s clear PC values attitude as much as anything else. It’s no surprise he wants rid of most of what he’s seen in the last three months.

Yes, it’s been a very interesting, good week for ITFC.
