Approach for the Cup games..... 13:27 - Nov 4 with 2168 views | itfcjoe | ....what are we thinking then? I'd probably go with a 1st/2nd XI for the Oldham game, and then a 2nd/3rd XI for the Colchester game. Don't know injury status of everyone but something like this: ------------------Hladky------------------- Donacien---Woolf----Burgess---Armin ---------------El Miz----Harper---------- --Aluko----------Fraser----------Barry-- ------------------Pigott--------------------- ------------------Holy--------------------- KVY--------Woolf------Armin----Kenlock --------------El Miz----Humphreys------ Jackson--------Barry--------??? -----------------Norwood----------------- Think giving Walton, Edmundson, Penney, Coulson, Morsy, Evans, Burns, Chaplin and Bonne a few days off to get themselves fresh for the next set of games would be prudent

Heard yesterday that Norwood has already put in a transfer request ready for January. He will be off.

Approach for the Cup games..... on 13:46 - Nov 4 with 1804 views | wkj | Pigott needs a couple of games, he's going to need to be sharp if QPR do end up recalling Bonne. Barry deserves some game time, but possibly not if we send him back in Jan. Nothing against Kenlock, but I would rather see Burgess experimented with in LB some more for games that are not as important as the league, as I don't think we're going to end up getting much out of Coulson this season if he keeps getting injuries. Jackson needs to be put in the shop window, and my personal view of Norwood is dim so I can't say I support the idea of him being involved - though emotions aside, he probably should get some turf time. El Miz is a must, Woolfenden is a must, Harper is a must (all three need to be sharp and ready). [Post edited 4 Nov 2021 13:46]

It's a tough balance, and guess the 'REDZONE' sports science stats will come into things to try and make sure everyone is purring at the right time. I quite enjoyed Burgess at LB, some of his passing into the box was very good, much more impressive than what he's been at CB on the ball. I wonder if Kenlock comes back into the 25 in January if Nolan can't stay fit [Post edited 4 Nov 2021 14:58]

Approach for the Cup games..... on 15:05 - Nov 4 with 1546 views | Price_1991 | I don't get why we should have a major change up for the FA cup?! lets keep striking while the iron is hot so to speak. We all want a cup run in the FA cup so lets keep the starting 11 the same. Walton, Donacien (if fit KVY if not), Toto, Edmunson, Penny, Morsy, Evans, Aluko, Chaplin, Celina, Bonne For the papa johns ham and pineapple cup play a reserves 11: Holy, KVY, Woolf, Baggott, Armin, El Miz, Carroll, Barry, Fraser, Jackson, Piggot
Approach for the Cup games..... on 15:09 - Nov 4 with 1523 views | TomTheWriter | I’d like to see full second string for the Colchester game, filled out with youngsters on the bench. Oldham game should be strong, but not unchanged. Walton should get another game, keep his confidence high. Wonder how Janoi is, bring Penney back in at Lb. would like to see Woolfenden/Edmundson partnership for the first time. Keep Morsy in for experience, pair him with Idris. Feel like he can be an excellent mentor for the kid. Front four is tough. Pigott should be in for the next two games, needs goals. Then any three behind really. I’d like to see Edwards again, played much better second half against Wycombe. Then maybe Fraser and Aluko. Ideally for ColU it would be: Hladky, KVY, Woolfenden, Burgess, Kenlock, Harper, Idris, Jackson, Chaplin, Barry, Pigott. With players like Yengi, Siziba, Chirewa, Humphrys on the bench. That’s what i’d like

Only reason chaplin isnt in first team at the minute is because he is injured slightly. same with Aluko. No way Cook would risk them in cup games. Burns is a very good player but Aluko is a better player and Cook definitely prefers Chaplin to Celina. Chaplin would have started Tuesday if fit ahead of Celina.

We shouldn’t go too weak v Col U. It’s a garbage competition to be in but if we lose to Sears, Skuse and co. It will get unbearable. That assumes Col U give a toss about the game. Maybe they’ll be playing their kids too.

Approach for the Cup games..... on 18:29 - Nov 4 with 1244 views | Darth_Koont | I’d like to see us give game time to the players we really need or might need during the rest of the season. And who haven’t played in the last few games (like Donacien and Aluko). So pretty much your selections but especially that El Miz, Fraser, Barry and Pigott need to be involved as much as possible. All of them have big boots to fill if we get unlucky with injuries or call-ups.

Approach for the Cup games..... on 18:33 - Nov 4 with 1233 views | TractorFrog | I would definitely pick Joe Pigott for both. We need him to be ready to step in if Bonne gets recalled, or even just called for international matches, and it's clear from his 20 goals last season that Pigott is just as good as Bonne if he can get on form.

2 months from now Norwood needs to be out of this club, so I wouldn’t risk anything that scuppers that, especially given his injury record. Pizza cup is a complete joke, I would go as weak as possible and get out of it personally. All about the youth in that one. FA Cup we should go strong, but rotating to give game time to some of those lacking it. Hladky, Donacien, Woolfy, Toto, Kenlock, El Miz, Harper, Aluko, Fraser, Barry, Piggot. Should be strong enough to progress

Can see Chaplin being used in at least one of the next two games, just to get minutes into him, but you would like to think he’ll be the starting CAM for the Oxford game if Celina goes away with Kosovo

Fair. I’d like to see what Fraser can do in a deeper role to be honest maybe alongside El Miz with Harper in front. His interview suggested he prefers playing there and Harper likes the more advanced role so let’s try it. Pigott Edwards - Harper - Aluko El Miz - Fraser

That team I named for Colchester is the exact team that beat Gillingham a month ago, but had Holy in goal, Toto at the back alongside Woolfenden, and Edwards in over Barry. A weaker team beat a near full strength Gills side, with their actual first-choice back four pretty comfortably 2-0. That team I named should be ColU by quite a distance, with it unknown how ColU will approach it because all their ex-Town players play 90 mins week in - week out in L2. Don’t know how many will play against us.

Best news I've heard all day! I'd like to see our back line settled but we have an embarrassment of riches in the forward positions to choose from so would be happy getting minutes into players' legs over these games. Don't really care about these pointless cups. League's the priority.
