That is not a thread calling for Woolfenden let alone saying he should be the first name on the team sheet. It is one criticising Nsiala. In it most comments defend Nsiala and point out that some pick up on every minor mistake from him while ignoring those from our other defenders.
This thread is one criticising Woolfenden for his mistakes. No one seems to have jumped in saying that he doesn't make them. However, several of us are pointing out that your premise that people are calling for him to be the first name on the team sheet is clearly wrong.
All defenders make mistakes. Nsiala seems to get more criticism than he deserves (I think possibly because he made far too many major ones in his first season here). Or more likely Edmondson is first choice and the organiser that the defence needs. Nsiala is the top of the choices to play alongside him and has cemented his place in the side. Woolfenden and Burgess given a half each to keep fit and give Nsiala a rest. Maybe even Burgess only came on because Woolfenden was playing poorly or might have picked up a knock. | |
