Gamechanger/Ashton are looking at a change 08:03 - Dec 2 with 5699 viewsFightingEssex

Anything more substantial on that other than the usual social media stuff this morning? You would have to bet they are looking at their options and putting feelers out at this stage for change at least after the POPR games are done with, assuming there is no improvement at that point.

If I recall correctly we didn't get any Paul Cook is coming rumours until it was leaked that he was going to be appointed as part of an ownership change, and although there seems to be some denial that Gamechanger/Ashton were ever involved with that, that was certainly a solid rumour at that time, to the point even Lambert commented on himself being replaced by a change of ownership.

You have to bet they are talking about a change now, even if it's only the start of the conversation and knowing how Gamechanger were very clever in how they leaked their buyout, I would expect something to come out soon if there was to be a change.

Saw Brett's got bored of one of his clubs and left.

Should get a few years from him before he ups and leaves onto something new.

Is there any evidence of him getting bored or are they just voices in your head that found their way into a post?

…they’re looking at change now because our B team went out of an irrelevant cup on penalties? Id say they’re most definitely not. What they will be focussing in is the January transfer window to support Cook, not replace him - that much is clear and has been stated over and over again!

Johnson is stepping down as co-Chairman of Phoenix - but remains an investor - in order to take up the same role at the Pawtucket, Rhode Island football club project, which has been ongoing (and he was publicly fronting) since long before they bought Ipswich. Bakay and the others remain directors of Phoenix.

If they aren't considering their options then they are not going to be successful football club owners

Heard Robbie Savage talking on the radio about Macclesfield. He said that, even tho things were going well, they were always looking at options in case a mangerial change became necessary or was forced on them. You just have to as a responsible club Director.

he has left to set to the new club in Rhode Island from scratch, going to cost around £400 Million to do it so probably got somethng to keep him ossupied and along with IFC he only has a limited amount of time to put inot them all I assume

The new owners did not appoint Cook, they did not have any involvement in firing Lameberk. All Evans.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I would imagine given how thorough Ashton is with his work, he will have been looking at candidates for a little while.

indeed. so what happens when the next club pops up and the next.. that's my point.

Everyone has raved about them all, and it's a prime example of how easy it is for him to move on like any other person can do in the world with a job. of course could take a few years before it happens, but this long term stuff thats comes out.. how long term is it in the grand scheme of their plans...

I'd like to think our owners are able to think for themselves, and not be sucked into any claims Cook might have made about how his squad is only midtable league one level and needs strengthening.

Why give a significantly underperforming manager even more funds?

they will want to see improvement in the first year, to make investing more money easier to explain to the pension fund for the future investment, no further forward in 2 years they will not be willing to invest as much.

But it was not because he'd become 'bored' with Phoenix, this project has been in the pipeline for several years (well before Ipswich). Phoenix is now well established, Pawtucket needs the leadership to get it off the ground.

Indeed.

These owners have funded good contracts over the summer, they've installed a strong infrastructure to the club which had been lacking for years, invested in TLC to Portman Road, a strong investment will be made into a new desso pitch, Ashton has done good business in the transfer market both inwards and outwards.

Just absolute nonsense to lay any level of blame at their door right now.

So after two years will they just "swallow" the losses to date and move on? I doubt it. As has been mentioned numerous times previously, this is a long term investment and I would imagine they will just "push on" to ensure they get their planned returns.

Pension funds are not poor and ITFC will be a mere drop in their ocean.........
