TEAM - Pigott and Bonne up top! Norwood on the bench. on 14:02 - Dec 11 with 2171 views | Guthrum | Hmm, but still with Donacien and KVY as fullbacks, plus the Morsy-Evans partnership in midfield. Thought there'd be more change than that.

Other way round I reckon. Piggot behind Bonne.

I guess we’ll see what impact (if any) that player meeting had after the game the other night. Hopefully we see a positive reaction at least.

Need the backsswitching, Tuesday made doñacien look bad which isn't the case this season,

Maybe injured. He was absolutely pony on Tuesday though, perhaps JM thinks he needs a rest. Odd to have no recognised central defender on the bench.

Maybe he’s playing 3-5-2 Donacien has played in back 3 before. KVY & Kyle could probably both do jobs as wingbacks? [Post edited 11 Dec 2021 14:21]

I'd have dropped Evans. He was woeful Tuesday, and has been underwhelming all season one game apart. Miz or Carroll deserved to start.

No Celina either so he must be unavailable.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings–nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And–which is more–you’ll be a Man, my son! Ipswich are playing four four fwcking two

Certainly would not be surprised if one of those two was first choice in the middle for the new manager (probably Carroll if he is fully fit).

TEAM - Pigott and Bonne up top! Norwood on the bench. on 14:32 - Dec 11 with 1169 views | HARRY10 | Hooray for formations. Whether two on top, three down the middle, two out wide ......... Load of old nonsense. The moment the players run onto the pitch all that guff is forgotten. Doncaster are not at the bottom because they play the wrong formation - neither are Rotherham top because they 'play the right formation'. Watch the game and you will notice that at NO point are the players in their supposed formation. Their place on the pitch is determined by a combination of where the ball is, and where the opposition is. None of the formation nonsense. Why are Rotherham and Doncaster then in their respective positions in the table. Well, in general, it is because the former are better players. However there are variables to be factored in. Like more motivated. They are this faster to the ball. This was obvious at Charlton. Nothing to do with formations, and similar sh ite. Our players maybe better man for man (or not). However, it is how they apply themselves. What causes that is another matter. You can waffle all you like about there being room for 'one more on top', a false number 9 (it is number 6 with his shirt on upside down) or any other meaningless twaddle. But if the players are roughly the same then it will come down to who wants it more. Who goes that extra inch and who fights harder. Against Charlton we certainly did not. If there is an argument to be had then that is it. Is this some 'hiccup'. Did Cooke sign players without that 100% commitment. Or is it, as some on here would have, that the players did not stay in their allotted space. Perhaps they could divide the pitch up into squares so the players and fans know where they should be ................in formation.

If that were truly the case, then the most successful teams would be a mob of players all fighting hard to get to the ball. You're not wrong that determination, desire, fitness and all those things play an important part. But so does knowing what area you need to cover on the pitch and where the teammates to whom you wish to pass are likely to be. Which is down to formation and structure.

After Tuesday he’s probably been taken out of the limelight for good reason. It also serves as a good excuse to try something different. Sensible move. Donacien is no worse than Toto at CB.
