My thoughts exactly. It would be brilliant to have a specialist coach like that on the books, but how is his man management, formations, tactics, player selection, etc. etc.? Is he happy to travel up and down the country watching the opposition? A lot more to being a manager than just being on the training ground. |  |

To be fair, either there are Championship clubs interested and it is between them and whether Chelsea can attract him to stay or his agent has made that up for the article in order to attract interest in him.
I would have no issue with us going for someone untried as long as they are the right character and will put a management team together.
Quite clearly enough have been persuaded to bet on him that his odds have closed. The bookies must be rubbing their hands with glee. |  |

We could do a lot worse. I just worry if we go for someone like Harris who is out of work we will just end up going through the same old motions and changes , building up our expectations and quote possibly still staying in this division.
We certainly need to do something new and different as the tried and trusted approach has led us, amongst other restrictions, to this point , which is half way down the Third division with a slight chance of the play offs. | | | |

He’s meant to be an outstanding general coach not just set pieces. Was part of Cook’s team at Wigan before moving on.

We are after a Head Coach, not a manager. The fact that Barry has specialised at Chelsea is probably more to do with the fact that they have tieing up laces coaches, goal celebration coaches and time-wasting coaches - ie a lot of coaches! He is highly regarded, and has qualifications of a more general nature. He is more than just a set-piece coach (although that skillset could well prove to be handy! |  |

Hurst was the wrong man and the wrong idea - he was never a head coach, hasn't been before or since, and wasn't an up and coming manager. |  |
