His last know descendant died in 1985
His son Robert, was in Washington when his father was killed, was also on the scene when President Garfield was shot in 1881, and when President McKinley was assassinated in 1901. How ghost was seen on a grassy knoll in Dallas on 22/11/1963
Few years back I was in Washington and did the tourist stuff including a trip to the Washington monument - the big obelisk thing.
On a short tour which included some American school kids / parents and the guide asks the kids if anyones know why it's called the Washington monument.
Silence, so the guide asks if anyone knows who the first American president was. Again nothing from the kids so the guide asks if any of the parents want to help, parent puts his hand up and proudly states "It's Abe Lincoln"
