Assume Jacko started last night so that he could be in the shop window?! on 08:44 - Jan 26 with 1801 views | wkj | He had a fair game last night, he didn't dazzle - but he was instrumental in the move that got the first goal. Nowhere near the £3m we wasted on him, but that's hardly Jackson's fault for accepting.

Assume Jacko started last night so that he could be in the shop window?! on 08:48 - Jan 26 with 1791 views | StochesStotasBlewe | We won. 2-0. Jackson was a cog in the wheel of the team that won 2-0. By all accounts he ran his nuts off. He is our player atm. There appears to be a group of fans that last night were/are on Jacksons back from when the team was announced right until the present. He's admittedly not the best striker at the club, but he's wearing the Ipswich shirt in a winning team. Give the guy a break.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Yep, he wasn't bad last night, if offers come then I'm sure we would look to move him on, but if not then he's not a bad body to have around the place going into the tail end of the season, think he would be better used coming on with 20 to stretch tiring defenders.

Was in corner last night and 3 muppets behind me constantly telling Jackson he was fxxking shxt. Brilliant support lol. When Jackson and Norwood first signed they were scoring for fun and we were flying. Then Lambert split them up. Neither are a line striker. They combined well for opening goal which was desperately needed. We played him because our player.

Same here. Thought his pace and movement made us fairly threatening down the left for once. Certain stuff didn’t come off but his injection of pace down the left and quick ball inside to Norwood was a major part in Burns’s first goal.

Assume Jacko started last night so that he could be in the shop window?! on 09:19 - Jan 26 with 1449 views | jayessess | McKenna said he was in the side because he'd impressed in training. I did wonder how Pigott or Edwards didn't get the spot if we're rotating the front 3, but maybe we specifically wanted something in the middle between a striker and a winger? From what's actually been said I think it's far from certain he's going anywhere.

You genuinely think McKenna would pick a player in a competitive league away game, against a side that have lost at home twice all season, "to put him in the shop window". Behave.

Assume Jacko started last night so that he could be in the shop window?! on 09:27 - Jan 26 with 1380 views | LeoMuff | Thought he was ok, as others have said not the worst on the pitch, clearly picked for a plan to pull off and overload the left to use his pace, tbf it worked for the first goal. I would definitely offload him if someone is interested.

Against that team, I could have started and we still win. He will be sold this week I reckon. My god I hope so.

on the flip side, before last night, only Wigan and Plymouth had gone there and won.. they are hard to beat at home, and we did it with a much changed team.

Assume Jacko started last night so that he could be in the shop window?! on 10:38 - Jan 26 with 1129 views | MerseyBlue | He was pretty poor for the majority of the game. That said he deserves credit for one pretty good ball into the box in the first half, and the pass to Norwood before the first goal. I haven't ever rated him but I was optimistic we might see a change from him yesterday. He seemed to be pleased with his involvement in the goal but that was about the strength of his enthusiasm. He's a frustrating player to watch. Other than that though he is so static, and doesn't seem to react to the play around him. Contrast that with Burns or Bakinson and how they moved and read the game (particularly in the first half) and he looked like the obvious weak link. I remember when people used to say Jackson was quick. Well his footballing brain certainly isn't, and he very rarely moves with enough purpose to determine if he is actually pacy on the pitch. We won and he played a part, so definitely a better performance from him for us. I won't miss him when he goes though.

Assume Jacko started last night so that he could be in the shop window?! on 11:22 - Jan 26 with 1012 views | DJR | I thought he did very well last night, and in my view was the pick of the three starting forward players. I think there is a player there, and McKenna clearly feels the same. He may not be here for the long term but so long as he can do a job for us, I just wish people would keep off his back.

I agree. Jackson has never been shy on the effort front. He just didn't seem to have what we needed in a 1 striker formation. Last night he seemed to be instructed to play out wide, and he actually did pretty well there. I believe his job last night was to pull the backline out of shape more than attacking the goal . If that was the case, he nailed it.
