Pompey 14:26 - Sep 4 with 3784 views | ringwoodblue | Having played Wendies, Posh and Cambridge already and getting 7 points from those games, you could argue that Pompey have had a better start than us as we’ve only played Bolton and Barnsley in the top half and only achieved 2 points. I know you have to play everyone twice in a season but it certainly adds extra significance to our games against Pompey.

Pompey on 14:43 - Sep 4 with 3637 views | Whos_blue | Barnsley who beat Sheffield Wed 2-0 away yesterday? I think we're doing ok. The top six are all on it so far this season, but it's still early days.

also they havent had to go to to the might that is Accrington Stanley obviously they outplayed us yesterday and in reality deserved to win 8-0 had it not been that the ref was our side and we obviously cheated by scoring more goals than they did

Pompey on 14:48 - Sep 4 with 3598 views | J2BLUE | They've played Cambridge at home. Take away their 4 home wins and their away form is D1 L2 so lets not make them out to be something they're not. They beat us last season and could do so again, but away from home they are not in good form.

Point of order - Portsmouth did not beat us last season, we took 4 points off them.

Need to keep an eye on Dane Scarlett, he’s been a very signing for them from Spurs and hit the ground running in L1.

Sorry it was unclear, I was talking about Cambridge. The not in form bit should have been the giveaway ;)

I would expect Prem youth players to thrive on hard summer pitches but get a bit leggy on ploughed up League One waterlogged fields from November through to February. This is where having the option to change our whole front line mid-game, without a drop-off in quality, will really pay dividends. Keep them all fresh, fit and firing!
Pompey on 09:13 - Sep 5 with 1902 views | dirtyboy | I think they've done well. Got some very decent players through the door and are effective at what they do. Let's all just enjoy what's happening for the moment, undoubtedly we won't be top from now until May, so there will be bumps but we certainly look like we're capable. Sheffield(A)4th, Plymouth(A)3rd and Portsmouth(H)2nd all in a row might not yeild what we want, but might give us an idea of where we're going. Still feels like we've only seen glimpses of us playing what we're capable of.
Pompey on 09:19 - Sep 5 with 1862 views | BlueBlood90 | You can only beat what's put in front of you and we can't help how the fixtures landed but Portsmouth have done very well considering the tough fixtures to start with. We should know more about how good we are after the next 5-10 games but I'm not overly worried about many teams if I'm honest. I think we have the best manager and squad in the league.

You look at our squad and I do think it's that, over the course of an entire season which will be the biggest benefit. I like Peterborough, Pompey and Sheffield Wednesday's first 11 very much and to a degree, Bolton's doesn't look far off being very good, but like I say, we do have strength in depth and when, inevitably, injuries and suspensions start to mount, hopefully that's when we'll be able to maintain more momentum than our rivals. That being said, mad league, anything could and likely will happen.

Norwich are annoying me. We're finally keeping to our side of the bargain by sorting ourselves out and (hopefully) challenging for promotion, but sods law they'll go back up and deny us of a derby day. Could do with Burnley beating them Friday and Watford finding some consistency to really tighten it up at the top. Can't be letting Norwich get a gap to 3rd.

God I hate Norwich. Serve no purpose to the football world other than to give us someone to have a rivalry with. Pointless yo-yo club.

If you speak to any of their fans, they'll say they've not even been playing well. I think they are still unsure of Smith, and I'm hoping their performances will catch up on them. Can't keep playing badly and winning

And we still won't get a derby the year after when we get promoted to the PL and they get relegated from it (again).

Pompey on 14:33 - Sep 5 with 1157 views | JackSted | I believe the bigger teams will be easier games as both sets of teams will be up for the challange. FGR, Morcambe, Fleetwood etc at home will be our hardest fictures as they'll be playing with 10 men behind the ball lol
