These things can't always be picked up.
I think the issue in this case is that the Ipswich player who committed the offence (KVY?) was warned, and no referee will give a player a second chance.
Incidentally, McKenna made quite a lot of harsh treatment from referees, which is in contrast to his usual dignified reticence on such matters. It made me think he is beginning to feel the pressure, so let's get behind him and the team. [Post edited 2 Jan 2023 17:56]

On the highlights you can see Burgess having a go at KVY after the penalty was given so this is clearly what Burgess was saying too at the time.

I very much agree with McKenna that it certainly looked softer than even some things that weren't given in the game but a bit of common sense from KVY and we probably win the game. |  |
