Fleetwood nicking a point at Plymouth yesterday is a touch 09:37 - Feb 19 with 3236 viewstractorboy1978

They've got a fairly nasty run of games now with a Pizza Cup game thrown in against Cheltenham this Tuesday too.

Peterborough (A)
Charlton (H)
Derby (H)
Barnsley (A)

If we can halve the gap to 4 points over these next 4 games, the pressure will really be back on. They haven't really had a proper kick in the balls all season - hopefully they get one and the nerves/jitters from throwing it away last season start to kick in.

The more I think about Fleetwood on the last day the more it fills me with dread, assuming the game still matters.

You're right about Plymouth not really having a sticky patch. Depends if you go by the law of averages and say they have to slip up at some stage, or by the evidence so far which suggests they won't.

Whatever happens it should be an entertaining end to the season, and I fancy us in the play offs if we end up there. Imagine our side on that Wembley pitch?

Great, but will also require us to go on a hell of a run, which we've shown not really to be capable of.

Looking at the highlights, Fleetwood had some decent chances in the first half.

Their away shirt has a map of the town on it. It's not a big place.

They didn’t have a single shot on target.

More interestingly, they limited Plymouth to two shots on target. Hopefully that is a blueprint for other teams to stifle them.

Truly impaired.

Yep. If they keep up the pace then fair play. But if we won our next three and they took, say, five points or fewer it would start to look pretty interesting on the weekend they visit Barnsley and we go to Bolton. As I said yesterday, it's a very narrow tightrope walk now but there's just about a pathway to making up some good ground.

Fleetwood are a stubborn customer, they knocked Wednesday out of the FA Cup also, they're clearly pretty awkward

We need maximum points from the next three games but we have a pretty tricky run in ourselves

Barnsley, Bolton and Derby all away along with Peterborough away and Wycombe at home.

We might be better suited to some of those teams, given they will try and come at us at least.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Interesting, like that shirt and have a thing for hummel kits in general. Cheers for highlighting it.

"...and we go to Bolton".

That alone is enough to send a virtual goose walking down my spine!

If we're going to close some ground on Plymouth, it'll be over the next 4 games.

Firstly, we'll need to pick up 3 points again MK Dons, Accy and Burton. If we're able to do that and also get players like Luango match fit, we still have a chance.

Pressure is all on Plymouth.

Just need to take care of our business and ratchet up the pressure. MK Dons will tell us soon enough, as we need to string wins. Capt Obvious I know, but we’ve seen ourselves it doesn’t need to be losses. A sequence of draws will be enough, if we can get on a hot streak.

Fleetwood have had an excellent week, taking 7 points from 3 games, against Charlton, Posh, and Plymouth..They are no mugs, and will be a difficult game at their place...Hopefully some of them will be on the beach by then.

That's just not true though. We had 48 points after our first 23 games. Our first 12 games yielded 27 points. We are well capable of stringing a 'hell of a run' together.

Yep.

You’re not third in February without some kind of run.

don't want to put a downer on the law of averages, but they have had a sticky patch already:-

grimsby beat them 5-1 in november, then they managed 3 points from 4 games against lincoln, burton, vale & cambridge, only leavened by a pizza cup win.

there is a precedent for them having end of season wobbles though, they failed to win any of their last 5 last season, may play on their minds?

One thing which always gets overlooked, unless it happens to us, is the fact that these "lesser" teams will mess up runs and form time to time. Especially at the business end of the season.

Hoping it would happen to others and not us though is problematic!

That business end of the season point is key - last year, after being excellent all season, Plymouth got 6 points in their last 7 games.

Teams do get the wobbles when it comes to the crunch.

Yes that's very true.

You can over analyse things but looking at our fixtures, the last 5 will very likely be against sides with absolutely nothing to play for!
