Well done to Brighton on 22:36 - May 24 with 2666 views | SE1blue | With all due respect to our great squad back then, Brighton are much further on and more established in the Premiership having been in it for 6 years. I think the squad they currently have would compete very well in Europe.

They and their club set-up are light years from us circa 99/00/01. Be nice to see them do well although the design of their stadium bothers me.

Their stadium? Looks s5it. Away end should be two tiered.

Well done to Brighton on 02:40 - May 25 with 2391 views | Kropotkin123 | Did we change the squad too much? Wright and Scowcroft left. Serini and Finidi joined. Marshall was back up, Gaardsoe was back up. Miller was back up. Le Pen was a flop (2 games), Cournago was a bad transfer for that season (0 goals) Marcus Bent was bought part way through the season, and was nearly enough to save us. If we had bought him at the start of the season we might have stayed up. This sort of turn over and success rate was pretty common. The season before was pretty similar in terms of players bought. We had injuries to key players and were a lightweight squad. Think we needed more players and I think both keepers were bad buys. Think we were after Poom. Think we would have stayed up with him too.

Don't they have planning permission for 40,000? Stadium designed to accommodate an increased capacity including additional tiers in places where single tier looks odd.

Always thought Wright was the biggest loss - he went to replace Seman who decided to play for another year.

I was think this, if anything - we didn't change the squad enough - not in the right ways at least

Well done to Brighton on 08:46 - May 25 with 1913 views | BlueySwede | Good team, Brighton. Well established in Premier League now. Personally I don't think it was the wrong idea to bring in a few players after our first success season in the Premiership (TBF, it wasn´t THAT many that came in), however it was the wrong characters and while Burley was a good manager, it has been stated his man management wasn't the best. All ifs and buts.

Serini's dreadful attitude did not help !
Well done to Brighton on 09:45 - May 25 with 1748 views | Keno | They are resigned to losing 3 or 4 players and Zebra's been linked with Spurs (which worries the hell out me) couldn be an interesting summer for them

Zebra would be better suited to Newcastle

It was mainly the goalkeeper that was the problem, Sereni was very good but his communication with the defence was less than ideal and Marshall a really poor signing, although he probably cost us more in failing to get promoted the following season. Poom remains one of the great ITFC 'what ifs?' doesn't he? We were a bit unlucky too, Lisbie's late goal, Barry Knight at Leicester and the (ridiculously) disallowed winner at home to Blackburn might all have made a difference early on. The collapse from February onwards though was pathetic.

Yip, it is. I get a feeling we will be alright in the coming season. A lot more open in general play I think. We have absolutely nothing to fear in this division.
