When I was at Travelex all you had to do for a PEP was do a few extra checks to make sure they were not sanctioned etc. IIRC the system did this automatically if you pressed a button.
The thousands of other PEPs don't seem to be haviing the same issues. Clearly because it's complete rubbish. |  |

Different companies have different levels of PEP checks and different desires for risk. Having worked at a FinTech where I wrote some of the integrations with tech providers, it doesn't surprise me too much that he'd struggle to find a bank, especially if there are concerns about the source of some of his income.
We'd have definitely not taken on Farage as a client because the risk would have been too significant for the amount of money he'd want to put in. |  |
