When I was at Travelex all you had to do for a PEP was do a few extra checks to make sure they were not sanctioned etc. IIRC the system did this automatically if you pressed a button.

The thousands of other PEPs don't seem to be haviing the same issues. Clearly because it's complete rubbish.

Truly impaired.

Different companies have different levels of PEP checks and different desires for risk. Having worked at a FinTech where I wrote some of the integrations with tech providers, it doesn't surprise me too much that he'd struggle to find a bank, especially if there are concerns about the source of some of his income.

We'd have definitely not taken on Farage as a client because the risk would have been too significant for the amount of money he'd want to put in.

Called (ironically) for a holiday in France

Said the Nat West offer came late once he’d kicked up a fuss and Coutts didn’t give him a reason… and said it was still politically motivated

Said he might have to leave the country due to lack of business account… interviewee said “to the EU?!” Expect of course he can’t…

Not necessarily tax advantages, but from recollection I think you are saluted by a man in a uniform when you enter the bank.

in my first job as an 18 year old my supervisor proudly told me that their previous job was with Coutts.

As an 18 year old I hadn't from them and she was quite annoyed by that. Especially when I shrugged after she explained who they were.

Well, I for one, am glad we found this corrupt, lying bigoted fraud out before he had any chance to do lasting damage to the country.

Can someone who's failed 11 times to become an MP be described as a 'career politician'?

The biggest spin in modern British politics was the leave campaign convincing many that a ‘leave’ vote was a vote against the establishment.

I think so. For years took every last cent for being an MEP - turned up, clocked in, and claimed his expenses.

He could have tried and influence European policy towards things that he claimed to care about - but no, instead he pocketed the cash whilst playing the part of the anti- establishment character*.

By character I actually mean c**t.

He did arrange for 2 of his kids to have German passports though... I can't imagine why he thought there would be any benefit for them. Oh.

So it was political after all and Coutts lied with their briefing against Farage.

Look, I loath Farage and his xenophobic views but imo this is very sinister.
