There is still going to be some rivalry between the clubs after how close all 3 promoted clubs finished last year. If you're not interested you don't have to read the thread or even comment on it. There plenty of threads in not the slightest bit interested in on here most days and I just choose to ignore.

So with you.

Who gives a toss what Plymouth and Wednesday are doing now?

I get that people are excited for the new season, but are we going to get this sort of reaction every time Plymouth and Wednesday play?

Don't mean to dig at you unstable, you seem a good guy, but I don't get this obsession at all.

It's an interest for me, not an obsession. I'm excited for the season and interested in how our peers are getting on as we not playing today.

Errrrrr TWTD we are in a league with other teams?! And fans… on 16:50 - Aug 5 with 3265 viewsunstableblue

Yet some of you seem to be thinking we can’t talk about how other teams are doing?!

Plymouth finished above us last season, and have signed permanently two players who are key. And both have scored.

Am I allowed to say even the pundits before the Stoke game were saying they’d take time to gel… and now they’re gelling!

Oh and Boro are losing.

Only first day of season and never a good benchmark- but come on you have to look at the opposition

Not digging you at all - and I get the excitement for the new season, but I really struggle to give a toss what Plymouth and Wednesday do now.

I'm watching the scores with the rest of you this afternoon, but I'm no more interested in those 2 than I am Rotherham or Hull.

We'll end up with some rivals later in the season I'm sure, but here and now they are just another team.

No beef here but this is a football forum for discussion about football and you're telling us you don't understand the need to talk about our rivals scores/results. Fair enough if you don't feel the need but as stated a couple of times previously in this thread, reading it is optional.

But it’s not a reaction specific to Plymouth or Sheff Weds is it Dubster?!

I’m interested in every team in our league… and to state we can’t comment or talk about them is frankly ridiculous.

I’m very interested in Stoke and Boro today, just as much as Plymouth and Sheff Weds.

Plymouth should of course hold interest because they’re a real benchmark and know quantity.

Weird responses.

References to the Sheff Weds forum post are very valid as it was explaining what their expectations are… far far lower than our fans

I'd have thought that the reason to be interested in Plymouth's performance is that they are doing well in their first match in the Champ, and we think we're better than they are, which makes it very encouraging for us.

I tend to agree. There's been a surprising amount of Mumba bashing on here. I think he's quality for this level, and certainly last season in the league below...

I don't get this obsession with people who are interested in other teams, particularly the ones who came up with us and fought with us for the title/automatics. What harm is it?

Just seen the solo run, great goal, but Hudds defenders have to do better.

Focussing on Plymouth they looked like they had a lot of energy and running in the highlights. We lost and drew with them last term. And they finished above us. And they’ve done well in the transfer window.

Is there a danger Town fans have decided for some reason we have a divine right to do better than them In Championship?! Let us see

We don't have a divine right, don't think anyone's suggested otherwise. But size of club, resources, the fact that a lot of their best players (if not all of them) were loan players last year, would make any rational person think Ipswich are likely to finish higher. If I gave you a free £50 to put on either, most people would go for Ipswich.

And I think you're reading rather a lot into one game - the opening game back at this level for many years, in front of their own fans etc.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Agree with this,

Forest Green won their first L1 game of last season - I'm sure for those interested in them there was similar optimism about their chances and in reality they were an awful L1 side (ignoring that wonderful win vs Wednesday!). First game of the season is just bonkers, it'll take a while to settle down.

Very good goal and he looked very sharp.

I think Huddersfield might struggle. I expected Warnock to be livid after the game. Not sure his heart is in it and wouldn't be surprised if he retires by Christmas.

Truly impaired.

I give a toss because I saw that goal and Whitaker’s; and I think our current defence might struggle to contain those two players.

I find it bizarre that some people think it’s “obsessive” for other Town fans to be interested in how our rivals in the same league are playing.
