May see defensive changes tomorrow on 16:48 - Nov 6 with 3318 views | SomethingBlue | Think our current defence is probably the best cut out for that – Burgess does a tremendous job protecting Hladky and Woolfie has improved massively aggression-wise. Only tiny tiny half-question that flickered into my head earlier was whether this game offers KM an excuse to recall Walton if that's what he really wants to do – but surely not ...

Thumbs up because our current defence is best cut out for this assignment. But Walton in for Hladky? No thanks. Hladky has been immense this season, and I shall leave my reasoning there, or else I might be tempted to be overly rude about Walton's display against Fulham. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Maybe Clarke too, just with that aerial advantage over Williams. It wont happen, but there's an argument its a game that might suit Walton in terms of his ability to claim balls into the box.

The only player with a bit more height would be Taylor over Mass? (I think there’s a slight height advantage, but might be wrong)

Completely agree – not what I'd do but what McKenna might do if he was galaxy braining it (tho I don't think he is the type, fortunately).

I don't think he can, or will. Hladky has been so good, you've got to keep with him until he's given him a reason not to. I get the point though, Walton is decent on crosses and coming to claim high balls, it was a big asset last season. We've got to take our game to them though. Get it down and get playing against them. They'll have to work hard to nullify us, and if we can keep the ball we'll find space as the game goes on.

That would be totally altering our playing style for a team in the bottom 3. Very negative imo.

Seems an incredibly negative approach to stick a CB at right back. Why blunt our own play just to counter them at set pieces? The best way to counter them, imo, is to not let them get near our box too often.

Andros Townsend? With Jay Tabb in midfield, who else do we bring in? I don't think I ever saw Sam Parkin compete for, let alone win, a header. Tamas Priskin as well? Oh, you meant Tuanzebe! You didn't see his heading on Wednesday then!

Based on the speed of their set pieces the other say I don't think Walton makes much difference here, he won't get near any of them. We just have to defend really well.

I don't see his name down as part of the squad in Phil's main news article before the game (and have left the question in News Comments - Phil ? ) but I wonder if Rotherham's physicality suggests that McKenna views this game as not one for Tuanzebe on his road back to full match fitness.

Oversight on my part, used the squad from the previous Rotherham game and have added him in. I don't see him playing though, I don't think they'd consider him ready.

Never heard of galaxy braining, but it sounds delicious! Tbf, as unfortunate as Walton's recent performance was, and as brilliant as Hladky has generally been this season, if Kieran wants something, who am I to raise the slightest quibble?!

I'd wonder if McKenna would do that if Walton hadn't looked so shaky against Fulham.
