Is Aluko a striker option? (n/t) on 16:10 - Dec 28 with 2676 views | jayessess | This season, George Hirst has missed 536 minutes of football in the league and 212 minutes in the cup. Across those 748 minutes, not a single minute has gone to anyone other than Freddie Ladapo, Kayden Jackson or Dane Scarlett. None of these left field suggestions are going to happen.

So was Hirst ‘another pointless, self-harming loan’ last season then?

He was an excellent hold-up player to see out games when we were ahead in League 1. I can see him being on the bench as an option since Hirst and Scarlett are no longer options. Of course, once we have another player in the door that is no longer needed.

So, what is 'an Ipswich player' to you? Is it only someone who is currently here? Does that mean we cannot sign anyone, ever? That would be tricky! Or use loans, which you have decided must be 'self-harming' despite the recent success of Hirst (then signed) and Hutchinson? Or, more likely, is this just another attempt at winding-up, in coming out with (in your view) clever phrases and comments, in talking down football today (for whatever reason)? Or is it just words? Words that make sense in your head, but don't bear proper scrutiny. Words that you keep on yelling at the forum, sometimes bizarrely and (mostly) rather tediously. What do I read from you, overall? Words that attempt to do down Ipswich; words that moan about the current day and how football is organised, owned and played everywhere; words that offer no positivity, possibility or insight. Just words. I think it is a shame. I bet you know your stuff, really. I wish you'd use it and join in the forum in an interesting, challenging, thoughtful, critical, funny way. And use your knowledge and experience to educate and enlighten. Currently, I don't see an elephant in the room, a clever name if you were one. I see a bitter lemon.

Is Aluko a striker option? (n/t) on 22:14 - Dec 28 with 1806 views | Swansea_Blue | With the exception of against Wimbledon, where we may see him again, the only position Aluko will play again for us is left back... …Left back in the changing room. Shame really, but we’ve moved on.

He also has something we could have done with against Leeds, & that Jackson lacks - ie cool calmnesss & composure under pressure. If only his legs were about 10 years younger ...

Is Aluko a striker option? (n/t) on 13:46 - Dec 29 with 1341 views | baxterbasics | Every time I've seen Aluko he was the best player on the pitch. Granted I've seen him on precisely two occasions. In League 1. Might not be a statistically significant sample size.

I have seen him as very skilful but not always impactful. What he does do very well is hold the ball up if it is played into his feet.
