Truth is, as long as we're not truly torn a new one or suffer any nasty injuries today doesn't really matter too much to anybody except for those lot up the road who think it will be a stick to beat us with.

Quite correct our season will not be defined by results against the teams we all know ( except for the odd surprise) will be in the top 6.
Let’s just hope we put up a spirited effort and why wouldn’t we with our team ethos?

Worth noting Villa lost 6-1 up there last year. The result isn't the necessarily the issue should we lose heavily; it's ensuring confidence isn't knocked for next week - I'd argue more the fans than the players. I forsee the crowd being more tense than against Liverpool, with a greater expectation that we could pick up points against Fulham. | |

Agree, & very similar thoughts, but I think we'll have at least a couple of absolute class moves from which we score one - Delap?

In about 40 years of supporting ITFC I’m not sure there is a game where I have not been able to put a cap on a competitive fixture.
A win would be unbelievable, perhaps as would a draw. We’ve built Man City into an unachievable problem with no solution, probably rightly so at this stage. However large the gap, we deserve to be here, we’ve earned the right to compete.
If the score is as large as some say it could be that’s a detriment to English football and the way PL has reduced the completion through the league system from champ to prem.
It’s no reflection on us.
