5 years ago today we left the EU. Some comparisons from then until now from the BBC.

Oh what fun we’ve had! That’s a poor article: overly verbose, lacks any critique and barely scratches the surface.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

But apparently we just don't have enough people who BELIEVE in it (Farage). Like Father Christmas.
Quick, tell your children, if they don't believe in Brexit then Daddy and Mummy won't have a job (because of those pesky European workers).

I never thought that Brexit was a smart thing to do and I still don’t.

It didn’t have to end up as badly as it has and thankfully this administration seems less blue, white and red. The worst PM of the lot - Theresa May - setting that tone quite early on.

Quite possibly the UK's biggest act of self harm.

How could anyone think that the country would become more prosperous through throwing away a frictionless trade agreement with its nearest neighbour. A neighbour that happens to be one of the biggest trading blocks in the world.

There is no other possible trade agreement that could match or improve upon the one the UK had with Europe.

We'll be tied to America if we're not careful. Hoping the relationship gets fixed with Europe, like the Norway option.

Why isn't there a point on how we've spent the 350m extra we were going to get each week?

The first nation to impose sanctions on itself

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

My In Laws - very old at the time and now dead - voted Brexit for that reason.

The wail from the Brexiteers was that it wasn't enacted properly

Luckily for us, the Griftmeister General will be sweeping to power in a few years time to sort it all out and transform it into the success that it should have been

And its overseas territories, who (aside from Gibraltar, which voted 96% to remain) had no say in the matter. It has been a significant issue for the Falklands, which now has tariffs imposed on its calamari and fish exports into the EU, one of its major income sources.

That’s quite impressive given that the two main political parties won’t talk about it and the media are nervous about criticising it. Imagine how much wide the gap would be if people were telling the truth.

It's like a dirty family secret that no one is allowed to talk about.

It's funny being in the 'I was right' crowd because it doesn't take much for people to sheepishly say 'yeah I voted for it'.

I hear "but they both lied" a lot.

The worst maybe yet to come. The weird thing missing from Remain side was the impact of not being part of sharing research and scientific discovery, as well as the security aspect of no longer being in the bloc.

Still, sovereignty! And crap, smaller passports (but they're blue!)

We have got the extra 250 hospitals promised haven't we?

The most notable thing for me is the impact on immigration. We knew it would drive down EU migrants by making it more difficult for them but to have replaced around 300,000 EU nationals with something like 2M+ from the rest of the world. Talk about being sold the lie for those who saw immigration as the issue.

Yes, there’s always been a lot of “both sides lied”. It killed projects and my last job and we lost loads of good people. What I find really annoying is when known Brexit voters reckon there’s been no impact because they haven’t seen any or it hasn’t affected them. So frustrating and it shows zero empathy for those who were badly affected.

Oh well, it’s all done now. Might as well make the most of what we’ve been dealt (with thoughts for our importers, as new border rules requiring even more paperwork come in today).

That was clearly stated in media I was aware of.
