Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? 20:53 - May 18 with 1381 views | BeachBlue | Genuine question. I'm a season ticket holder for the men's and women's team. The last few years have been intense and this season has been a major come down. VAR, signings not living up to expectations, injuries, some genuine bad luck and bad refereeing, has made this a very difficult season to enjoy. But we persist and I try to keep positive at matches and ignore the day trippers, who haven't been for years, but know everything we should be doing, even though they only know three players names. Yes I've renewed my season ticket, but frankly I'm tired. Tired of losing and not scoring and being outplayed week after week and the frustration that comes with it. So maybe a break over the summer is what we need, more than want. Also let's not forget our League one promotion season began in July, a busy transfer window last summer, where I was on here regularly. It's been an intense experience. Having said that, my wife says I'll be bored three weeks after the season finishes, so maybe I'm wrong! UPPA TOWEN!
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 20:59 - May 18 with 1327 views | Mark | It's been an awful season for the men, but you have seen ITFC Women get promoted. Next season the wins will return for the men as we go into the Championship with a good squad, players returning from injury and parachute money. Some players may be sold, but there will also be new signings to look forward to. That said, I am rather fed up with how football is going and the Club World Cup is the latest sign of that. I will ignore it totally.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 21:19 - May 18 with 1216 views | portmanking | Do you know what? I am looking forward to a break, actually. The last 3 seasons have been a real roller-coaster of emotions and stress. I know next year will have its own pressures/weights of expectations so to have 6+ weeks to think very little about Town (yeah, right!) will be nice to recharge the batteries.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 21:29 - May 18 with 1153 views | SitfcB | Always say I can’t wait until it’s over but the first weekend without it hits hard but it will be nice to have a break, the end of the last two seasons have been stress central whilst this one is dragging out nastily now. Wish I could turn the internet off between the end of the season until a couple of weeks before the new one and skip all the transfer bollicks.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 21:40 - May 18 with 1074 views | MattinLondon | I just want the season to end. The only way that I can describe how I feel towards ITFC is like that Monday morning after Glastonbury feeling. Very tired and want a rest. I think a couple or so days after the last match I’ll gladly look forward to more footie on telly, look forward to more transfer stories and take it from there. I’m actually looking forward to the next season but glad that there’s a couple months break from the emotional attachment to it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You do know you're not forced to go on the Internet and read football news right?

There is the Club World Cup this summer, although, probably won’t be watched by many people.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 06:18 - May 19 with 552 views | IPS_wich | I fell out of love with football about 15-20 years ago, which is sad because I devoted my childhood and early adult years to it as a fan and as a pretty decent player. As soon as it effectively became a non-contact sport and player's wages started spiralling (I'm thinking early-mid 2000s) I couldn't give two hoots about it. But, I still and will always love Town, even in the darkest of times under Evans I would do anything I could to watch/follow games - and having moved to Australia in 2012 that involves some ludicrously early mornings/late nights (even last night I watched past midnight despite knowing I had to be up at 4:30). What this season has proven to me beyond all doubt is that football as a form of entertainment is dead. I hadn't watched a single minute of Premier League football since about 2008 and if that's the pinnacle of club football then I'm glad I checked out of the game years ago. It is so tedious to watch; just this constant rinse repeat of falling over, blowing whistles, faking injury and VAR. The second halves are awful, with the ongoing stream of substitutions disrupting the flow. I'm sure it's amazing in the ground, but as a TV spectacle it's mind numbing. All that said, when are the fixtures released?
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 06:36 - May 19 with 523 views | textbackup | Yes, definitely. This season has been one of the least enjoyable I’ve known as a Town fan. If I had to rate it, 2/10.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need a break from football? on 07:00 - May 19 with 441 views | mikeybloo88 | I think the whole first team squad have felt that for some time now..they talk a good game but inside they must be drained and it’s shown on the pitch, they’ve just not seemed mentally as sharp as they need to be. Hopefully those that remain will reset and new faces add some new energy so we hit the ground running in July. A good performance and a win on Sunday though would go a long way towards lifting the mood substantially around the whole place during the break....
