Yep. Although I wonder if fans of Forest, Brentford , Bournemouth etc felt this empty when they replaced fan favourites with more expensive signings?

Agreed, and I agree with everything being said regarding needing to move them on to sign the new quality players. But the sentimental side of me is really hurting and upset. I have little issue with losing those players and will be eternally grateful for their efforts and the euphoria given to the fans over those two seasons but things evolve
My only worry is that there doesn't seem to be a great deal of evolution in a good sense just yet . Small time frame I admit and only four games but .....some green shoots will be nice with certain individual players please
Perhaps with the departures it'll give the "new " bunch time and room to shine themselves and not forever in the shadows of the "legends" |  |

The only time Ipswich town fc are ever successful is when we have a team of weirdos rejects youth players and the odd high profile signing, all coached to within an inch of their lives and with amazing esprit de corps.
Now we have a squad full of expensive glamorous signings. Will we buck the historical trend? |  |
