| This actually offers the club a way out. on 18:02 - Mar 26 with 1175 views | Swansea_Blue | They might not want Ashton to go and could believe it would harm the club, so it’s not straightforward. Do we want to compromise promotion for the sake of Nigel Fkn Farage? That would be hard to swallow. There’s a good argument for not letting that w&nker of a man tear the club apart (even if trust between the fans and club is damaged; that can be repaired with success on the pitch). We do need to hear from the ownership group(s) now though. This can’t be dealt with or smoothed over by Ashton himself. | |

He and the club by extension have lied to you. They think we're all fools, believing their story where they downplay the club's and MA's involvement. But you're too happy licking that boot to care.

How can it not be? Genuine question. He’s literally put his ego over the clubs neutral position politically, then denied doing so, then outright lied through the use of the clubs media channels, hoodwinked Phil into his bullsh*t and taken the entire fanbase for mugs. It has to be a sackable offence. Bringin the club into disrepute.

These C-suites always get away with stuff, even when they're bang to rights, it's one of the reasons Farage is so popular FFS - these people need to be held accountable, for once in their lives.

Then lied to the fans. Also MA is not our saviour. The investment and KM are. Modern football - we can’t get promoted if our CEO leaves come off it.

I doubt even he believes he’s the saviour of the club, in spite of his ego. He’s brought the club into disrepute by lying to the fan base, and has humiliated it nationally, for no reason whatsoever.

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, I can only speculate based on what's reported... but I can't imagine he's over enamored with how our illustrious CEO and Chairman's actions have sowed unrest amongst the fanbase and the team at the most crucial time of the season.

To you , me , and every man and his dog it looks like that but we're not lawyers. In a court of law it's a different story. We have no idea what his contract involved in terms of what he could do or not do etc.

Ashton not leaving could impact Kieran anyway.. There could be some extremely pssed off players who we are asking to get the club promoted, a club they may well dislike right now.

| This actually offers the club a way out. on 18:14 - Mar 26 with 802 views | ChelmsfordBlue86 | If handled correctly the club could come out of this really positively and as one. It could even help us for the remainder of the season, but for that to happen Ashton absolutely has to go. Will always be grateful for everything he done and certainly won’t forget the good bits, but unfortunately he really has shot himself in both feet. What a catastrophic misjudgment. | | | |

Legally, it’ll be done as a civil situation of employment law where ‘bringing the clubs image into disrepute’ is covered. If I’d have done that at my firm (and we’ve enough celebrities who bet with us that we deal with every day to easily do so), it would be a sackable offence. Ashton has tried to become pally with Farage and used ITFC as a device to do so. It’s absolutely 1000000000% gross misconduct and it’s not even close imo. Based purely from doing an A-Level in law.

It’s utterly absurd what people are suggesting isn’t it. He’s the best chairman we’ve had for a long time. We drive him out then who knows maybe McKenna follows and then some of the players. And all driven because some of our fan base are angry that a politician they don’t support has had lunch with our chaorman. It’s almost impossible to fathom.

When sacking someone, you have to take a step back, and ask what the person did that is not part of his role, or contravened some rule or policy in the business. Having an ego is not. Inviting someone who might at some point be able to influence our development plans is not. Being secretive about things is not, if it's not illegal, and doesn't contravene the rules and policies of the business. We also don't know who else is complicit, or made the 'club' statements. Yes, his position is likely untenable, but it's far more likely that an 'accommodation' will be agreed rather than an out-and-out termination of contract. Those can get very messy, and drag the club through the courts, which is the last thing we need. This is why in the corporate world, senior executives often 'leave to pursue other interests'. Could it involve a pay-off? For sure it could - and as unpalatable as that is, it keeps it cleaner for the club. Let's wait and see - but I think it's unlikely we'll see an announcement saying he's been fired. [Post edited 27 Mar 9:13]

It’s a personal thing isn’t it to way it up. The pros and the cons. Pros - double promotion. McKenna. Football club is a far happier place than the Evans era. The foundation. The stadium improvements. The training ground developments. Cons - he’s willingly sold the football club’s soul for his own benefit. And he had no right to sell something that is ours. It’s Ashton Out for me. [Post edited 26 Mar 18:28]
