It's a nice gesture that the club didn't have to do, but it's a drop in the ocean of the club's finances. A bit like me sticking a quid in the plastic guide dog at Sainsbo's.

If you can afford Sainsbo's you could give more than a quid. I use Lidlo's or Aldio's....;-}

Oh, I wish! I only pop in there when the wife has put weird exotic crap on the shopping list, that I can't get from Mr Aldi. Giant couscous this week, for example.

Now he just needs to do better than 22 points, and adjusted for resources EASILY the worst any club has done at this level!! You’ll be saying painting turnstiles makes for an elite CEO/Chairman/Only voice in the room next. This is great. It’s not what makes someone a success at this level though. Ashtons had 36 years of one years experience repeated. That doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon - Leeds and Sunderland got over double our points total. I’d want a distraction too I’ve I was that bad relative to my peers!

Indeed, good from the club (whether or not Ashton is the club now). Still Ashton out!

There is no chance to debate with them because their minds can't be changed

Fair point, but the underlying fact is that maybe, just maybe he isn't as much of an ogre some are trying to make out, of course he made a mistake in having anything to do with farage, but I can tell you now, EVERYONE has made mistakes in their lives. To be hounded about it like some on here have done is way over the top. Make your point and move on for goodness sake, and I'm talking about both sides of the argument

I would say that applies to 95% of your posts but you still start them

It wasnt a mistake. Dont give him that benefit. It was his hubris and arrogance being caught out.

Given the endlessly negative drivel you post on here, I think you need a distraction given how bad you are relative to your peers. ‘Adjusted for resources EASILY the worst any club has done at this level’. Wow. Anyhow, it’s a lovely day. Try and enjoy the sunshine. I see your lot’s new kit is out. £70 for a long sleeve bile yellow shirt with sleeves that look like the sad wearers forgot to pack the tissues. OTBC. Edit: and for people that knock what the club has done with this local club kits initiative, it may be a small amount relative to the club’s finances but it’s better than a poke in the eye and any engagement with the local community is good. I think this is a great little gesture to local football. Its penny's to the club, but significant help to each team. Re Ashton - overall he's done a superb job. But regards the stuff a few months ago - I'm sure in hindsight most will see it as a mistake, but my problem is he lied and he's never apologised.

When you need to keep knocking somebody normally means that people aren't agreeing with you

And when somebody is blamed for everything that goes wrong and given credit for nothing that goes right, it usually means those doing that have an agenda.
